We stayed in the one bedroom apartment on 7th floor.
It was a really good size, with a large lounge containing 2 sofas, one which converted into a bed, a kitchen with fridge, freezer, cooker, kettle, toaster and microwave as well as a great double bed room with a bathroom off it.
The decor was a little dated but it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
The room is only cleaned/turned down during your stay on request but staff were very helpful and friendly.
Location was perfect, only a 10 minute walk away from Boyleston St.
Would definitely stay here again in the apartment.

We got a 3-bed private room. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were clean. The location is great - near the subway and also in walking distance to the centre. The staff is friendly. There is free coffee in the lobby. They offer discounted price for overnight parking in one of the nearby garages.
We found it quite pricey but I guess all accomodation in Boston are expensive.

On a budget this was just perfect. Great location. Beautiful bathroom, although they're shared there are individual locked cubicles with a shower, sink and toilet. Complimentary tea, coffee and fruit. Comfy bed and clean. Friendly staff.

I stayed here twice during the summer, first with a group of friends and secondly with my girlfriend for a short break.

On both occasions, I found the staff extremeley friendly and helpful. I have to especially mention Lauren who epitomises brilliant customer service and has a fantastic warm, welcoming attitude. On both occasions I stayed she went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was to our liking, that we were settling in in Boston, and she really helped us out a lot.

The rooms are basic, but have pretty much everything you need. The only downside is there is no A/C, however for me the cieling fan worked just fine. For the price you are paying, its just about the best you'll get in Boston. The old shared bathrooms in the corridoors arent the greatest, however on every floor there are modern shared bathrooms with individual restrooms with a shower, wc, sink & mirror, which are quite new and well equipped.

Berkeley street is in an ideal location in Boston, very close to the Back Bay orange line T station, and a short walk to Copley Square and the Copley green line T station. For anyone with accessibilty problems, the hostel is fully accessible, however some of the streets in the locality have old loose cobbled bricks, which could be an issue.

All in all I enjoyed my experience in 40 berkeley and would definitely recommend.

Very basic rooms and communal bathrooms, but the place works, mostly because it's well run and kept very clean. It feels very safe, and the big lobby area has lots of people of all ages sitting around using the wi-fi and the complimentary coffee and tea.
This is definitely one for budget travellers. The rooms have very few facilities apart from wi-fi and air-conditioning. But they are clean and the bathroom areas always seemed to be completely spotless. some of the furnishings could do with updating - the carpeting in the corridors was pretty shabby.
Staff went out of their way to be helpful.
There's no restaurant or cafe, but Billy's cafe across the road has good prices and excellent food - I had a big stack of delicious blueberry pancakes and syrup.
It has good access to the airport, and is within walking distance from South Station.
Altogether a really good choice if you're on a budget. You need to book.

Room Tip: Ask if they have one in a part of the hotel that is being refurbished.
