This makes our fourth stay at The Reynolds Mansion. This is by far our favorite place to stay for complete relaxation. The staff is very attentive, right down to every single detail of your stay. The breakfast is amazing. Billy will sit with you during breakfast and talk about the history of the mansion which is fascinating. If you are looking for a peaceful, romantic getaway with top-notch accommodations the Reynolds Mansion will be sure to exceed your expectations. We cannot wait for our next stay!

My husband and I have stayed at many different B&B's in many different towns and even a few in Europe and I can say hands down that The Reynolds Mansion may be the best one yet. The breakfasts were absolutely the best B&B breakfasts we've ever had! They were so delicious and so filling that we literally didn't eat again until about 4:00 PM each of the three days we were in Asheville. Then there's the accommodations. This mansion was lovingly and gloriously restored and even though it is museum-quality from the furnishings to the artwork to the craftsmanship of the interior, it is at the same time so comfortable and luxurious. After full days of sightseeing and exploring we looked forward each evening to grabbing a delicious baked good (always available in the dining room) and relaxing on the upstairs wrap-around porch. From the time you are warmly welcomed until your departure you will love every minute of your stay. And as if that's not enough, Billy is an experienced bee-keeper and has hives on-site (not close to the house, don't worry, and as Billy will tell you, they are gentle creatures!). It's the most delicious straight-from-the-hive honey I've ever tasted. I loved it so much I took some home! If you're headed to Asheville you can't go wrong in choosing the Reynolds Mansion. We definitely hope to return some day.

We have never stayed in a B&B before so I was a bit apprehensive about the service and accommodations. We arrived early but that was not a problem. Sandy and Billy welcomed us right away and showed us to our room. Billy even offered up a larger room for no additional cost since it was available that weekend. We liked our room "Katie" on the second floor of the main house and stayed with that. Katie is warm and cozy and had a great view of the garden and backyard where there are chickens and a bee colony for organic honey Billy uses in his meal preparations. There is a great claw foot tub in the room and plenty of hot water. The bed is part of the original furnishing when the home was built, 50 years before the Baltimore house and comfortable. There is a great deal of history in the house and we spent a lot of time speaking with Billy about that and learning a great deal about the history of the Reynolds family. The breakfasts were fantastic, never the same meal twice and never on the same china patterns. Billy is a stickler for details and customer satisfaction. There was plenty of sweet snacks, wine, hot chocolate and coffee 24x7, which I took advantage of repeatedly. We plan on returning there to experience it during the colder season so we can take advantage of the fire place in the room. Overall this was much better than staying at an upscale hotel, where we usually stay.

Room tip: Rooms in the main house are more cozy and closer to the sweets.

The Reynolds Mansion Inn is our foremost bed & breakfast experience so far. We are not bed & breakfast experts by any measure, but have enough experience to know this is an exceptional one.

The buildings and property are very pleasant to the eye, the inside rooms, each one a masterpiece, and the outside verandas and gardens are pleasant, restful, luxurious, and good for a vacation's repose.

We stayed in the "All that Jazz" suite in the carriage house. This room is a good blend of theme artifacts, comfortable furnishings (including a king-sized bed), and modern conveniences, which contrast nicely with the historic building, the mansion, across the gardens.

We enjoyed a peaceful and quiet time on the verandas, and walking this wonderful property. The mansion is situated on an island of acreage that is surrounded by modern buildings on three sides.

Though old, the mansion is in a very good restored condition thanks to the efforts, talents and skills of the proprietors and competent staff. We enjoyed Billy Sander's company at breakfasts and occasionally as we walked the property. He is a gracious and entertaining host. He and Sandy were dedicated to our comforts and provided historical and cultural information about the mansion's story. They know the area and provided a lot of suggestions on where to go and what to experience in the area.

The breakfast's were delicious and wonderful. The coffee was very good and our cups were never empty. We were treated like royalty. They provided not only a hugely satisfying meal, but also good conversations with Billy and the rest. Everyone joins in.

His recommendation of a dinner restaurant, the Stoney Knob, was a perfect one. We had a perfect dinner at this unique and wonderful restaurant (see our separate review).

Enjoy!

Room tip: For a king-sized bed solution, there are three or four options, but the All That Jazz Suite definitely was wonderful

From the moment you walk into the Reynolds Mansion, you're made to feel like family. Sandy greeted us as we pulled up with a huge smile on her face and immediately made us feel welcome. From that moment, we knew that this place was unlike anywhere we had ever stayed before. The house itself will take your breath away. It's like you are stepping back in time to an era of true Southern charm and hospitality. Sandy gave us a tour of the house and pointed out to us access to complementary alcohol, coffee, tea, water, soda and juices.

The innkeeper Billy was an exceptional host. He knows everything there is to know about Asheville and the surrounding area and will give you excellent tips on great restaurants, places to visit and how to get around. He has the perfect personality for this business: he's extremely down to earth and makes you feel like you're a guest in someone's home rather than a number in a room.

Breakfast at the Reynolds Mansion isn't simply breakfast; it is an experience! The dining room is stunning and is very authentic to the time period. The whole staff will cater to your every need. You will never want for anything! The breakfast was the best we have ever had. It will blow your mind and exceed all expectations. Billy will sit at the table with everyone and tell compelling stories about the history of the house and Asheville itself.

We stayed in Guest Room Glenda, which we believe is the best room in the house. Billy confirmed that it was the most booked and we know why! The views of the mountains are breathtaking, the bed was the comfiest I've ever stayed in in a hotel, and the whole atmosphere in the room was cosy and romantic. It is perfect for couples. The room was absolutely immaculate. When you leave for the day, you return and it is like you have never stayed there. The bathroom is a little on the small side, but there is access to a larger communal bathroom on the same floor.

The Reynolds Mansion is set in a serene suburb of Asheville, yet is a simple ten minute drive from downtown. This was our first time in Asheville and we found that downtown was extremely easy to navigate: getting from place to place will never take more than about ten minutes.

Upon reading all the fantastic reviews, we were sold on the place but were slightly skeptical whether it would live up to our expectations. Trust me: it did! It's rare that you come across a hotel that does not have a single negative (or even mediocre) review. This was our first stay in a B&B, and we were completely blown away. I don't think another B&B would ever live up to this one. We definitely would stay again. A stunning place that you simply have to stay at.

Ps: Once we got home, I received an email from Billy thanking us for our stay and to let us know that we had left a pair of flip flops in the room. He told us the flip flops were already in the mail and we received them a few days later. Such personalized service. Thanks Billy! :)

Room tip: Room Glenda was fantastic. Ideal for couples. Scenic views of the mountains, a very cosy, homely feel with a huge, comfortable bed.
