“Nice Sunday Buffet Breakfast!”
Reviewed 20 November 2011

Palisades has a nice Sunday Buffet breakfast. All you can eat fresh fruit, bacon, sausage, potatoes, gravy & biscuits, sweet rolls, & a made to order omelette! You choose any combination of mushrooms, bacon, onions, cheese, etc. or just any type of eggs & it will be cooked & delivered to your table. Reasonably priced & well prepared!

Their menu is on a small newspaper & the theme of the restaurant is Western with large trophy heads for decor. Their lunches are also very good. They have fresh soups & we had their grilled hamburgers with onion rings or fries & they were large & juicy cooked to your preference. Have not been there for dinner yet. But if the lunch & breakfast are good, I imagine the dinners are also. There's room for large parties, too. Don't think you will be disappointed with either the breakfast buffet or lunch!

“Good lunch stop while on the road”
Reviewed 15 September 2011

First time I have been back in Gunnison in 5 years. Not much has changed at the Palisades. I figured it was still pretty good since a tour bus was just unloading when we arrived. We were not disappointed. This may not be "the best" restaurant in Gunnison but it sure seemed reliable. We stopped for lunch and had good sandwiches. We were returning from a week vacation and stopped in Gunnison for grub and gasoline. Pleasant and friendly atmosphere. Will stop again on our way through.

“Good food & will eat there every time we are in Gunnison.”
Reviewed 8 September 2011

We have eaten there before about a year ago & enjoyed it, so ate there again. My spouse said the reuben sandwich was the best he ever ate. It's not much to look at on the inside, lots of wood, but still comfortable enough. I suspect lots of the locals eat there which is always good. Price is reasonable, so I would recommend the place.

“Average at best - but perhaps good for Gunnison”
Reviewed 4 September 2011

After a long drive, our friends and we looked for congregations of cars at the restaurants we saw. Seeing a few parked at Palisades we decided to give it a try. It was not a bad decision.
The menu was fairly extensive for a town this size. We ordered the soup and sandwich - which turned out quite good. One of our party had the BLT which she was pleased with. The bar had several brands of beer. Try the Sunshine wheat beer for something different. It was quite good.
In another review, I read about the tipping policy here. I found it to be as awkward as the previous reviewer did. A handheld device is presented at your table when you pay your bill. You swipe your credit card, press several buttons which the waiter has to explain. Then you are given options for your tip (another button) at 18% and 25% if I remember correctly. I do remember 15% was not an option. So you can give 18% or up, while the waiter watches the buttons you push once he instructs you. Just be prepared.
