We loved our meal at Wild Rice restaurant last night. Excellent food and service in a very beautiful place. I had buffalo ( first time), my partner had Alaskan halibut, and others had lamb and a specially prepared vegetarian plate. All four were top notch. Waiter suggested ideal wine pairings for each that were just right. Salads were excellent. What's not to like? If in the area be sure to splurge on a meal there.

Was here on a Thursday night after making reservations and then a six hour drive. It was listed on a top ten Brandy Old Fashioned site so had to go check it out. First off they make a outstanding BOF. They have a house mix and then the standard mix. Both are muddled and both are top shelf but the house mix that Sarah made us was the best. We then sat down for dinner and were treated to maybe the best service and meal that we have had. Our waitress was first class and took care of every need. The food was the star here. Bison and Halibut were both very good. I am so looking forward to going here again.
Thank you Wild Rice for a great night!

We had a fabulous time at Wild Rice restaurant recently. It is one of the highlights of our annual trip to Bayfield. The food was fabulous, Nick recommended a great wine, and we had a perfected situated table.

The only dark cloud in this sunny experience was that service slipped just a bit this time. When we asked if there was any way we could make a substitution, which was allowed in the past, rather than a simple "no" with a short explanation we were told "Absolutely Not" and had to ask again for any kind of reason. We also had to work relatively hard to convey a food allergy, which meant leaving part of a side off the plate (NO SUBSTITUTIONS). Our waitress avoided us after our initial exchange, which was odd, because we were accepting of the explanation.

We get it. You do not have one extra lettuce leaf for your composed plates. We understand your chef has been nominated for a James Beard award, and rightly so. In future, we will make a reservation and drive out to see the menu of the day before we commit. But this is still a great restaurant and I would highly recommend it. (I don't think our server will last long, if frustrated by minor questions.)

Who knew there was such a fabulous restaurant in a town of 450!
Architecture is fabulous, service excellent, wonderful wine tower, fun and colorful art and food for foodies.

Who would ever believe that the road through the woods (Old San Road) leads to the beautiful Wild Rice restaurant. Although the menu is limited and can be pricey (some entrees up to $60), the setting and ambiance is unique. If you do not want a full meal, patrons are welcomed in the bar and can order a selection of drinks and appetizers both inside and on the deck. In cooler weather, the outside fireplace is a welcome addition.
