Old Rittenhouse is quaint and romantic. Rooms in the house provide the setting for the guests and the antique surrounding was dazzling. The food presentations are sumptuous. I began with an I Am Huckleberry Martini complete w/a pick of fresh huckleberries. Memorable. I ordered seafood soup-every spoonful was an ooh and an ahh. Mike's main course was the Rittenhouse pork chop he describes as more of a pork roast w/carmelized apples. Dessert topped with their house fudge was so impressive we bought a jar of the rich dark chocolate fudge for another occasion. Eat there for the experience, leave with the fudge and you won't mind the price.

The Rittenhouse's Landmark Restaurant is not just a place to enjoy a fine meal - but rather - it is an overall "excellent experience." It starts from the moment you step onto the beautiful veranda and walk through the front door. You will be greeted by friendly and exceptionally accommodating staff.

From the classy Victorian dining area, to the perfectly recited menu, and the fabulous cuisine - the Rittenhouse was a great way to start the day during the recent 2016 AppleFest.

We thoroughly enjoyed our cinnamon french toast and apple pancakes. The maple cinnamon sausage (their own recipe) was delightful. A great presentation at a very reasonable price. And - our waitress (mature with graying hair) - was superb!!

We enjoyed a five course dinner here....soup, salad, entree, sorbet, and a dessert choice. We were able to select items from the menu. The package for each person was $59.00. Lance, our server, was very professional. Service is a bit slow, but the food is worth waiting for!

The three main rooms on the first floor of the Old Rittenhouse Inn make up this restaurant. All decorated in Victorian style, as befits the house, they are cozy and serene. Dinner was outstanding, with several very tasty entrees, including local Lake Superior fresh fish. The chef's dessert specialty was a luscious cheesecake with a nice graham cracker crust, served with cherries and a dash of chocolate. Breakfast was also superb. The first course was a cherry, cranberry, and granola parfait, followed by a choice of seven entrees. The French toast consisted of house-made cinnamon bread topped with a fresh apple compote, locally sourced. The service at breakfast was astonishingly good. Highly recommend!
