The location is within walking distance of many of the must see sites in San Francisco and the staff were very nice and accommodating. There was no concierge available while I was there which made it a little harder to find and book a restaurant but I was only there for one night so I assume there is usually someone available to help.

Hello Brenda,

Thank you for your note! We appreciate you.

I am so sorry for the absence of our concierge team during your most recent accommodation at W San Francisco. I am more than confident that our W Insider or our Welcome Desk could have successfully helped you as well. Please ask for our amazing W Insiders next time you stay in a W hotel, you'll be amazed of the strings they can pull.

Hope to see you back soon.

All the best,

One thing the W portion of the SPG chain always tries to maintain is its trendiness and this hotel was no exception. Stayed here for a quick weekend getaway.

Check in: Arrived a tad before the usual check in time, so it was a nice surprise when the staff member checking us informed us that our room was ready. Check in process was smooth and efficient.

Room: We had a corner room on a high floor with beautiful views of the Modern Art Museum beside us and the city. The room was very trendy and quite spacious. The bathroom was a bit dated, albeit clean, so that wasn't a bother. One thing to note, at least in our room, is that the bathroom door is of the rained or muddled glass type. Hence, you may be able to make out what your friend or family is doing inside. We had no issues as we are a couple, but just something to note. The hotel provided the great smelling Bliss products as well.

Grounds: The hotel is located in a central area and we found everything quite walkable. There were many staff members available on the lobby always offering assistance with restaurant recommendations, etc. I forgot to print out a sheet for a tour we were doing on our first day and usually hotel concierge is able to help. In this instance concierge had stepped away for a moment, so we were directed to use the business center on the 3rd floor I believe it was. What I didn't know was that it was an automatic $6+ charge to use the computer and more $ to print items (beyond your first two b&w pages). I was not expecting that sticker shock for printing a couple pages. We here over a weekend and at night the hotel lobby area transformed into a lounge type setting with loud music. We were fine with this as having stayed at W's in the past, we knew what to expect.

Overall, I had a good time at the W San Fransisco. It is a great hotel that is centrally located and very near many sites.

Hello there,

Thank you so much for the kind note and the time spent in writing us this message, we truly appreciate you!

We will definitely recognize the teams that you gave a shout-out to, we truly take pride in what we do and love getting feedback from valuable guests as yourself.

We are glad that you had an amazing time in SF, however, I am noting down your feedback on effectively communicating our WIRED (business center) prices better.

Please, swing by and say hi when you are in the area, we would love to welcome you back to W San Francisco.

All the best,

Good, central location for business travelers and tourists. Like most Ws, it is a bit pricey and has a faux-chic vibe and poor lighting. Some of the rooms have crappy views of another building but I think it varies a lot.

I stayed here for a conference which was located across the street made walking easy. Rooms are small but nice enough. No on site retail at all for incidentals. Since there is no on site retail or no vending machines on any floor only ice. don't get hungry for a snack as ur only options are over priced items stocked in the room and room service. Room Rate very pricey as was in room dinning. Food quality was high. Staff nice. Small dinning area and lobby. They are doing renovations so perhaps that will change.

Hello there,

Thank you for taking your time to write us a note! We truly appreciate you.
We will definitely share your shout-outs with our team, thank you for sharing it with the world. In regards to the pricing, please be aware that it's unfortunately comparable to SF hotels in our category, but please connect with our Whatever/Whenever agents or our W Insider to get suggestions of less expensive options in our area or we can get "whatever" sent up to your room "whenever" you want, just ask and we will be happy to assist.

Please let us know when you visit us again, we would love to welcome you back to W San Francisco.

If you look for a modern, young, full optional, downtown hotel in SF, please contact this hotel at first to get their quote; if too expensive, change the date and you might be more lucky...but it is really worth staying here. Choose highest floor and avoid parking at the hotel (too expensive: half price if you park on your own in the same building nearby)

Hello Pablito!

Thank you for your note, we appreciate you greatly!

Oh, absolutely! Rates are driven by what's going on in the city. A little tip (shhh), but you can generally find better rates on the weekends versus weekdays.

Swing by when you can. We love to welcome you back to W San Francisco.
