I booked a special deal for this hotel where I got a great rate and 1/2 price parking. The location of the hotel is great. We walked to Union Square without a problem. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The rooms were adequate. Nothing fancy or special. The beds were so hard. My husband prefers firm beds and it was even too hard for him. It was also very noisy (we were on the 16th floor facing Van Ness), but I think that's to be expected in a city. The parking garage was very convenient. On one night I heard them telling people the garage was full. Not sure what happens in that situation. Luckily by the time we came back for the night there was space available.

I would stay here again only if I could get a killer rate. And I would definitely request a room on the opposite side of the hall. It served its purpose, but I was really happy to get back home to my own bed.

Our stay at this hotel was quite comfortable. The main advantage of this hotel is its location which is not in the heart of the touristy area of San Francisco but at the same time close to the main shopping / sightseeing areas. Would definitely recommend it to anyone on a business / leisure trip!

Room Tip: Make sure you request a room on a higher floor to enjoy the beautiful views of the city!

I agree with some of the other reviewers that suggest that you won't hate this hotel - but doubt you'll love it either. Perhaps we got off to a bad start as despite being a member of their loyalty program and entitled to a room upgrade and my only request being for a quiet room we were put in a room on a low floor on the busy street side - we had a terrible night with the noise - it was almost as if the window was open. That said the next day the staff handled our request for a quieter room (on the back side of the hotel) well and I would recommend you push this point if you don't like a noisy room. The rooms are adequate if a little small and a bit tired and the whole place has a dated feel to it. Thankfully we managed to book a deal that reduced the onsite parking to half price of $19 a day but at $38 it could be a factor for some.

We had 2 rooms and had an incident where we came home in the late afternoon to one of our rooms being unlocked, with the door catch propping it open. The manager was most apologetic but it could have been a real issue if someone had decided to make their way in there for whatever reason.

On the plus side the staff were helpful, the hotel is well located and we enjoyed our time in the onsite bar that has meals available. Check your invoice though as we were billed for calls we hadn't made. There is also an onsite self serve laundry which was most welcome.

In summary if you get a great deal give it a try - but we'll probably be staying elsewhere next time.

Room Tip: If you need quiet check that you have a room away from the street side
