We stayed at The St. Regis for a work trip of my significant other's. It's a fantastic hotel, but definitely expensive. The customer service is top-notch, and the location is very convenient - plenty of things to do within walking distance.

The pros: very quick service, in room or at the front desk. We had an issue with the drain in the spa tub at one point, and they sent someone up to handle it right away. If you're in need of small items you may have forgotten, such as toiletries, a lint roller, playing cards, etc. they'll provide it.

The tub is very cool. All of the essentials for a nice hot bath to relax in are included, down to the loufa and robe. The bath opened up into the room too, which was fun. The showers are great as is the water pressure.

There are plenty of nice extras, such as a bar, saltwater pool, and exercise facilities.

The cons: the noise level was definitely a little high, even on the 20th floor. The blackout curtains and blinds are controlled by an electronic panel (also for the heat, lights, do-not-disturb, in-room call service, etc. - very convenient), so you'd think there would be better sound proofing...but the noises of the street below were constant, as well as the noises of other guests in the hallways.

It's disappointing there wasn't a mini fridge for our use - it was filled with expensive drinks instead. So we had to make do with an ice bucket, and I'm sorry, but if you're having someone pay $600/night I find that unacceptable.

We enjoyed our stay at The St. Regis. If you can afford to splurge, it's definitely a very nice hotel to stay at. The level of customer service really made the experience that much better.

Room tip: 20th floor and still plenty of noise from the street

First time stay at St.Regis Hotel in San Francisco. The Hotel was modern, decor was very feng shui. The hotel room had a calm balance with the layout. The staff always had a great positive attitude and were immediately helpful with any inquiries. Perfect location, walking distance to trolly, China Town, and Moscone Center. Ended the visit with a wonderful hotel dessert, made-on-order banana bread pudding.

This is a great 5-star hotel. Nice indoor swimming pool. Butler service is great. Use the shoe shine service. Give them your dress shoes and they will return them in the morning at a time of your choice. This is a St Regis perk.

If you are Platinum Elite, skip the 1,000 points and opt for breakfast. Well worth it.

The St Regis is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway to San Francisco. The location is wonderful - a few blocks from Union Square so a bit removed from the tourist chaos, yet close enough to walk to everything you would want to do. The rooms are very well appointed and the staff is engaging and warm. My only wish was for a coffee maker in the room which I should have arranged in advance. Otherwise perfect! A photo of our view from the 11th floor is attached.
