First surprise! We were upgraded to a Deluxe Room on the 13th Floor! The fact that they actually kept the 13th floor as "13" surprised us since so many hotels adhere to the old superstition.
But no matter.... we felt completely pampered while staying at the St. Regis in San Francisco. Excellent, personable, and professional service throughout. From the lobby to the doorman to the staff at the Vitrine Restaurant to the butler service!
The butler service impressed us the most! My husband forgot cufflinks for his shirt and asked to borrow some, but was told none were available at the time. Although, we had to improvise using other materials (we were running late for dinner reservations) we found a box of cufflinks in our room upon our return. They sent someone shopping at the nearby Macy's to get us some. Even though, it was too late, that kind of service was still very much appreciated! Thank you, St.Regis!

Due to the closure of the Bay Bridge, we took the BART into the city and got off at the Montgomery station. It was super easy and there was no hassle with parking. Of course, we packed light and were able to walk the few blocks to the hotel.

We loved the high end marble flooring, leather walls, and luxurious linens. We didn't hear much noise from others in the hotel room, but you could still hear the sounds of a big city below. So keep that in mind. 13th Floor was not high enough to buffer the sounds of sirens from fire engines and police trucks. But it was very quiet after midinight or so. So it is definitely a reminder - that while St. Regis SF is an amazing hotel, keep in mind that you are still in the heart of the big city.

Room Tip: Pick a room facing away from 3rd Street.

The St Regis is a beautiful, but expensive hotel located within walking distance from AT&T park. The rooms were lovely, and the bar action was fun when returning from a night game! The walk from the hotel to the park was enjoyable, safe and just what was needed before enjoing a great Giants Game!!

We had a beautiful stay at the St. Regis. Although here for business coming back to thr hotel for quiet time was wonderful.

The rooms were very luxurious and comfortable with very fresh linens free of debris. The TV had unlimited channels, although, to watch movies a high payment was required. The bathroom facilities in the room were magnificent. A large bathtub was situated near a walk-in shower.

The location was very convenient for both shopping and exploring. Also, the san francisco museum of modern art is just down the block.

The St. Regis had some of the best staff service i have ever seen.

This hotel is only a few years old and it shows in its modern design and clean look. The rooms are well appointed and the bathrooms just as good. I'm a big fan of the shower. While the staff still need a bit of work to reach the level of the Ritz up the road but they still do a great job. If you are in town for an event at the Moscone Center or are looking to attend the museum you couldn't pick a better hotel.

I am staying here right now (Feb 2012) on a business conference and have found he hotel to be comfortable and relaxed. The rooms are spacious (the wall to the bathroom that can be folded back helps to give an illusion of space) and quiet, and the public spaces of the hotel are relaxed. Staff are friendly and helpful.

There is nothing special about the location - there's no view from the hotel or the surrounding area that you would write about - but the main shopping area is quite handy.

All in all, a decent place for a conference but I wouldn't stay here on holiday.
