Farallon is a wonderful restaurant. The seafood can’t get any better and there is a fine oyster bar to suit discriminating tastes. Service is professional and the decor and ambiance are perfectly suited for a special occasion or romantic date night. But it all comes at an above average cost.

After living in the SF Bay Area for 27 years and working the SF now and then in The City we moved to Oregon in 2000. This was our first trip back in 18 years. We stayed at the Westin St. Francis Hotel due to it central location. We arrived in the evening and for dinner we selected the Farallon Restaurant because it was close by. Now this is sort of a seafood place with a daily changing limited menu. The ling cod and escargot with asparagus was nice. We had reservations in the main dining room but opted for the Jellyfish Lounge. Not a place to really enjoy fish in SF.

The artwork and frescos were amazing and you are in a hot spot for sure! The jellyfish sculptures are so unique.

Everything was beautiful - however the food was just ok. Nothing disappointed or wowed me.

Service was professional, attentive and knowledgeable. The caviar was yummy as were the appetizers (oysters and cheeses). Our entrees were paced nicely and we never felt rushed. Both were served warm and both were a foodies delight! Highly recommend for a special occasion.
