I am a club member at marines memorial and have stayed here many times. The service has always been spectacular and great resturant that is kind of a hidden screect in the bay area. Non club members can book here. Clise to everything and the staff are great. Wonserfyl sauna

Very unusual ambience for a hotel...because of course it is primarily the marines' club. Not for you if you are spooked by the memorials along the corridors. But very reasonable rooms, with fridges and safes. Washing machines available too! Breakfast is excellent and who could dislike the afternoon happy hour with completely free drinks, even cocktails?! Located near Union Square so area very convenient, if beset by San Francisco's homelessness issues (like even the swankiest hotels in the area).

From check-in to the spacious room to the gracious and friendly staff in the top floor restaurant with a panoramic vista of San Francisco where I had a tasty complimentary breakfast including bountiful buffet or made-to-order omelette and later, dinner fare, this Club is a jewel. Missed complimentary happy hour. Learning about Leaders in the Marine Corps, including Commandant Clifton B. Cates who formerly owned the home where I live in Chesapeake Bay Country was very educational. All the guests -- older to youngsters--seemed to appreciate the experience.

One big advantage of this hotel is its perfect location. Right in the middle of the city - 3 min walking from Union Square or Powell cable car station. Breakfast is also nice, though not that reach. BUT, the facilities are old. Rooms are heavily decorated, the shower is uncomfortable, no Wi-Fi and walls so thin - I could hear the street, the people in the elevator and when the guy next door is taking a shower.

Conveniently located near a Big Bus stop and public transport. Nice big comfortable bed. Decent breakfast. Complimentary happy hour every day from 4pm to 6pm was nice. Bonus was the complimentary use of the laundry.
