As the B&B was full, Jan gave us a souterain apartment in his house 10min away. The area is wonderful and quite, Bus, Metro and Castro street only a few min away. The apartment ist spacy, fully equipped, clean and very cosy. The kitchen is ready for big cooking including all the machines, basics like spices, coffeefilters and even some food are there. We really enjoyed staying there!
Jan gave us a lot of useful tips to explore the area. In summer the Castro District seems to be less foggy than the rest of SF, as the Twin Peaks give some protection.
Next time again!

Am glad you enjoyed the "living like a local" aspect of the Caselli avenue apartments.

This B&B was so comfortable and elegant it was hard to get myself out of the rooms to go exploring! The food was amazing and the innkeeper was kind and informative. This is less than a 5 minute walk to everything we wanted to see. I will absolutely be returning.

Comfortable, pleasant, eclectically appointed rooms; each with its own, distinct vibe. Innkeeper/proprietor Jan de Gier offers a diverse breakfast menu, which is always tasty........and he's encyclopedic about things to do and see in the Bay Area. Being almost AT the intersection of Market and Castro, the location is ideal for access to bus/Muni/Bart transportation......and just minutes away (walking) from an impressive variety of restaurants, cafes and lounges. We've stayed at Jan's several times over the past 8 years and love coming back to The Inn, where we're treated like family.....Tres&Kyle

This stalwart of the Castro continues its unsurpassed quality and service, despite pressures to economize and cut corners. I've stayed here over 30 times in the past 25 years and owner Jan is the perfect host that keeps me coming back. Its classic 70's decor will put you right in a "Tales of the City" mood. It's location is perfect: steps away from the Muni station, #24 bus, and the thriving Castro scene. Did I mention the breakfast? The Inn takes this part of "B&B" very seriously with freshly baked items, cut fruit bowls, and hot entree selections every day.

Thanks for your kind words.
This is not a Bed and Bun Inn.
We like to pamper with daily changing
entrees and daily changing colored dishes.

My partner and I had an amazing experience at the Inn on Castro. The service was incomparable and the location was convenient. The moment we checked in to the moment we left we felt absolutely comfortable and taken care of. The room was perfect, clean, comfortable, and comfy. We were at a great location that aloud us to simple walk to all the great bars and restaurants in the area. To add to that, the next morning we had a delicious breakfast waiting for us. In addition to coffee, there was fresh fruit, yogurt, and a menu with something sweet or savory. I would highly recommend this place for anyone that wants a great experience and an affordable price. I plan to go again and bring people with me.
