Beach Villas at Ko Olina

We booked a 2 bedroom with ocean view and it was wonderful. Sandwiched between the marriott and Disney property, it is a nice quiet stretch of beach and we never felt crowded even in the middle of summer. Being able to walk down to the beach in minutes is a treat anywhere. The snorkeling was ok, but really can't complaint being that convenient. We were there for a wedding and it was perfect. It is not too convenient for going to Honolulu, especially with the traffic.

My wife's parents and I rented a condo through Airbnb for a week while in Oahu. While it was pricey (that's more specific to the owner of the unit we stayed in) it was so worth it to spend the extra money. The unit we stayed in had every upgrade you could ask for, top of the line appliances and very nice pools. The service from the Villas staff we received was mediocre but again that may be because we rented the unit and don't own it. The best part of the Villas though was what was outside the gates of the property. The three lagoons are absolutely incredible, water temperature was perfect and the beach was impeccably clean.

Couple suggestions for those staying here. Plan to drive quite a bit if you are wanting to do tours, excursions etc that aren't offered on site. The property is located on the far Northeast side so it's.bout a 45 minute drive to Honolulu, 60 minute drive to Haleiwa and about the same to Kailua (depending on traffic of course). Just make sure you select transportation for excursions or rent a car if you don't select that as an option.

Overall I would stay there again in a heart beat.

We stayed at Condo 214 for one week, and loved every minute of it. It is a relaxing, and beautiful area. The sunsets are gorgeous, and the walk along the path to the different lagoons is enjoyable. The condo was very spacious. 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom modern, and clean. Everything provided was of high quality. The view was more mountain than water, and faced the road, but it was very quiet. There were tons of beach toys and chairs, as well as a cooler, snorkels, and everything you need for the beach. Rented from VRBO, the owner was great, and our greeter Blayne was very friendly and helpful. All the staff on hand were nice. Security is tight, you can only use the key card in the elevator to your floor. Not so good, if friends are staying on another floor. There are two pools here so it was easy to get a seat. Good temperature for a hot day. The beaches were amazing, but what we didn't like is that we could not use our own umbrella for the beach and there were only about a dozen provided on the lagoon, definitely not enough for the amount of people that use the beach. There are a few shade trees to sit under while you wait for an umbrella to become available. We did a bit of snorkelling here, but if you drive a few minutes down the road to what is known as Electric Beach, there is some of the best snorkelling we have ever done. Lots of scuba tours go there too. It is best to rent a car if you are staying in Ko Olina. Costco and stores are close by. I would not necessarily recommend the beach villas for families with teenagers. No activities, no volleyball on the beach or at the pool. Very low key. I would recommend this place for families with young children and couples.

We had a 3 bed condo for 2 weeks in April and loved it. 1021 is a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom penthouse with 2 lanais and masses of space for a family of 5. It was beautifully furnished and equipped with a lavish kitchen. It was presented spotlessly clean and had all we needed, including beach chairs and towels. We arrived at the end of Easter week, and when we got there the pools were packed with kids, but by the next day the resort really emptied out and was very quiet and peaceful. Parking for us was included and very convenient. You really benefit from having a car here. The lagoons are fantastic although my youngest just loved the pools. She also enjoyed feeding the koi carp every day. My 3 kids never got told off for being too noisy in the quiet pool, although having read some reviews I was worried they would! The gym is excellent. This is a place to come and relax, possibly after spending a few days at Waikiki. The supermarkets in the nearby town are brilliant, and we enjoyed cooking for ourselves. We snorkelled with turtles every day, near by, but I am not going to tell you the spot because it was nice to have it to ourselves often! We saw Dolphins close to shore just up the road by the power station. The golf course looked in amazing condition and we enjoyed watching the LPGA tour there. It seems well priced if you play. This is the place for reading books, watching movies, walking to get a coffee, swimming and having no timetable. It is not the place to come for night life. Yes it is easy to get back to Waikiki but we did not bother. We drove to various beaches around the island, nothing is too far away. I would definitely come back here. It reminded me of the west coast of Maui but without the additional flight. Highly recommended, yes it may be pricey but justifiably so.

Room Tip: Either tower with sea views.

It can be expensive... From our experience, it was worth the price.
The facilities are awesome. Loved the pools and hot tubs (both kid friendly), the bar (although it's a bit pricey) and the bbq's.
In room, spacious 2 bed 2 bath place... Solid construction, with the doors closed, you don't hear much even from within the unit. The kitchen is awesome and has everything you could possibly need.
The lagoons are fantastic... A Great place to learn how to snorkel, you see a lot of cool fish. Swimming in general is pretty awesome and really good for kids as well.
Overall it was a wonderful place to spend relaxing.

Just be care of the snarling traffic jams to get in and out of paradise!
