The units don't have air conditioners. With the hot weather it's really hard to stay. They didn't mention that online.
When I asked the property manager why you didn't mention that online, she said I didn't mention that it does have air conditioners either.

My husband and I stayed here in 2009 and we loved it so much, we came back to the same condo unit (213) for a week. While the location and property are really lovely, the unit is definitely showing some wear. There were lots of rusty areas in the kitchen, worn through paint and aged carpeting. It made me a little sad to see it a bit run down than when we were here in 2009. Overall, it was still a great trip. The daily turtles visits were awesome, the people there were all so nice and morning coffee on the lanai can't be beat.

There was a wall of mold in the upstairs bedroom. Could not sleep due to headaches and coughing from the mold. The cups were old and tattered and a few had melted in the dishwasher. The dust on the bed and furniture were a problem. he electric outlets did not work . TV and hairdryers kept shorting out. All amenities seemed really old! The janitor said that the owners never updated the place in 40years!

The balcony view was great. A rooster bellowed every day at 4:00AM!

Room Tip: stay away from #301

We are sorry to hear of your experience. This condo unit (#301) is operated by an offsite rental management company, not by our on-site manager. Condo units that are operated by our wonderful on-site manager can be viewed via our website, where you can also see photography of each individual unit in our on-site rental pool. Mahalo for your understanding.

If this was my first time in Maui, my review would likely be different. But it's not. Been coming to Maui for almost 25 years.
Pros: Nice views (but likely much better on 3rd floor). Clean condo. Even though there was no AC, there was good airflow with windows open.
Super comfy king sized bed and pillows!!!
Loved sitting on the wall and watching turtles.

Cons: Traffic to and from Kahaluhi can be horrible. Above average provision with beach chairs, snorkel, boogie boards, sunscreen; however, only 2 beach towels, limited linen/towels. No cooler.
Very small kitchen with nowhere to put groceries.
Problems with doors/locks.
View by the ocean somewhat spoiled by black tarp (erosion?)

Overall, we have stayed in larger condo with better view around the same neighborhood, but we did enjoy our stay.

Mahalo for staying with us at the Kulakane. The turtles (honu) love it there too, as you experienced. When you stay in units that are managed with our on-site management company, any minor issues can be easily addressed; just ask for a cooler next time!

Now if we could just control the traffic....Maui would be perfect!! ha ha!

Overall we had a positive experience staying at the Kulakane in 308. The condo itself was able to easily accommodate the 6 of us staying there.

Pros: views, views, views!!! The views from our room were absolutely stunning! We were able to see whales and sea turturles. Some of the turtles even swam up on to the neighboring beach.
You are able to snorkel if you go far enough out.
The location is only about 10 minutes away from Front St. and close to multiple beaches
Upgraded kitchen
Nice patio set

eh: No AC but with the fans it did cool down and we weren't there the majority of the day.

Cons: Does not have its own "sandy" beach
kitchen pots/pans were horrible
There was a leak in the roof and they had buckets for the water all over the condo. We did contact the management and they responded immediately and we were told the property management would contact us but they never did.

Room Tip: No elevator, Corner room was very large
