We stayed here the week of March 15, 2004. We were in our spacious room for about 10 minutes when the first whale had been spotted by my husband from our lanai. It was so exciting! We could see the spray from their blowhole, tails and fins, etc. Bring your binnoculars for a closer look. The management is very accomodating and the Hololani was perfect. We could stroll on the beach just outside the property and the family had a great time snorkeling with some turtles. We have stayed in other condos and none were as spacious as the Hololani. The view, sunsets are spectacular and the trade winds kept us cool and comfortable. We will return.

We are leaving for a 2 week stay at the Hololani at the end of April.
Each stay is always the same whether a year passes or five years. The Hololani is an exuisitely kept condominium resort---don't expect resort hotel services--that provides a perfect feeling of privacy and comfort in the Kahana area. Two high-rise buildings form an "L" facing the beach and a breathtaking view of Lanai and Molokai. All units run through the building providing constant and access to the trades. After at least 10 years of staying at the Hololani, we define Maui as heaven at the Hololani. The units are clean and spacious and well appointed.
As in earlier reviews the restaurants and stores are but a step away, but within the Hololani it is still a separate and wonderful place apart. Couples and families alike will love the place. We had dinner at a Roy's in San Diego the other night and felt the old Kahana feeling.
Booked the flight the next day. Hololani, Slaughterhouse, Fishbowl and Roy's Kahana await!

Hololani means heaven and it reflects the name. We have stayed there twice in the last three years and will return again. Office staff was always helpful. All units are ocean view (some would consider them all ocean front) and are fully equipped with everything you need. Pretty lawn, nice pool and BBQ grills complete the area next to the beach.
There is a convenience store, Mickey D's, Internet Cafe and four nice restaurants within 1 1/2 blocks. Try the Fish and Game Brewing Company.
They brew their own beer. The "Blond Bikini" was great.

We stayed at the Hololani last year and had a wonderful time. The property is a direct ocean front property with all 2 bedroom/2bath units. Units are roomy, big lanai to watch sunsets and whales(in season). Pool and barbeque grills out front. Good value for the money!!
