This place has potential, but it is in need of a makeover. If I were the owner, I would prioritize improving the glazed areas (windows, sliding glass doors) to provide better soundproofing. They need to have at minimum double-paned glass, and what they appear to have is the thinnest commercial glass on the market (or whatever was on the market when the place was built). Our flimsy sliding glass door to the "balcony" was not enough to buffer the sounds of the major road in front of us or the hotel's parking lot just beneath us. You could hear every word anyone said in the parking lot, and we listened to huge trucks idling beneath our window on multiple occasions. The room itself was tiny, and the shower was like a phone booth from yesteryear -- you had to keep all limbs close to your body while washing or you'd knock into the wall or pop the door open. One of the faucets for the vanity area sink leaked constantly so the counter was almost constantly wet. On the other hand, when we had to complain about a noisy neighbor, the staff dealt with it swiftly, decisively and effectively and that was the end of that.
The hotel restaurant is a unique space -- it is enclosed but also open to the outdoor breezes. Perfect for pandemic times! The hotel restaurant is a unique space -- it is enclosed but also open to the outdoor breezes. Perfect for pandemic times! It was nice to have breakfast here, and this is something they should keep (though spruce up) in my imagined makeover. The hotel also has an enviable "back yard" area with nice areas to walk and sit. This and the spacious lobby entrance all seem mismatched with the actual rooms. Hopefully they will improve the rooms and make the most out of this potentially lovely hotel, but for now it is a work in progress.More
