“Amazing Condo in Paradise”

My husband and I stayed here for a wedding anniversary trip per my sisters recommendation. This place is absolutely awesome! It is so close to the ocean you could not ask for anything better! I could have spent all day on the lanai watching the surfers and sea turtles! The condo itself is very nice and extremely well equipped. There were boogie boards, a walking stick, plenty of beach towels, Hawaiian music CDs for the drive, a cooler to pack a lunch or snacks, guide books and all the kitchen supplies that we needed. I presume that prior guests have left some items behind as there was also some laundry detergent and plastic baggies available which came in useful for us. We really enjoyed having the ability to have breakfast in the condo before we headed out for the day, the ability to pack a lunch and the opportunity to cook dinner if we didn't want to eat out. The bed was very comfortable as well. The unit does not have air conditioning but if you leave the sliding door to the lanai open and the bedroom windows you get a nice breeze and there is a ceiling fan in the bedroom. The building is well maintained and very quiet and the unit was very clean. It is also a nice central location on the island with about an even drive to the north shore or up into the Canyon. The Beach House restaurant next door is a nice restaurant with good food to enjoy a romantic night out. We truly enjoyed this home away from home. It has changed the way my husband and I travel. There is so much more value in rentals than hotels. The cost of this unit was cheaper than a standard hotel room which wouldn't come close to matching all the amenities and additional space/privacy we had while staying here. I would highly recommend staying here; I know we will on our next trip to Kauai!

Thank you, we couldn't agree more about the advantages of vacation rentals (especially ours!) over hotels. Thank you for the kind words.

This top (4th) floor condo was very well furnished and maintained and location was great for our second stay at Kuhio Shores. The wide angle binoculars were perfect for whale watching, and the whales were plentiful, breeching, tail flapping, fluking. The turtles were just off the rocks daily. We also saw dolphins. Since it was south facing, we watched the sun rise on our left and sunset on our right, often with surfers in the foreground off Lawai beach adjacent to the condo, nice for easy snorkeling. We prepared most meals in the well equipped kitchen eating at the dining table overlooking the ocean. The adjacent Fishhouse Restaurant is upscale and very good. We walked to the nearby open air mall to shop for local foods, clothing, gifts, and the Wednesday Farmers Market is a must. Also enjoyed shrimp at the funky Savage Shrimp restaurant there. Served on paper plates and delicious. We will stay at Kuhio Shores again, hopefully in 412 if available.

We chose this apartment for my husband's 60th birthday week. The apartment is very well maintained and in the perfect location. We snorkeled (some of the best snorkeling we found on the island) twice a day in the bay next door to the apartment, in front of the Beach House Restaurant. The sunsets were amazing and the relaxing sound of the ocean was very calming. We live a very busy lifestyle back in Australia and the week in this apartment was good for the soul. We would recommend it to anyone who wants to treat themselves to something special.

Liked best: The location and excellent condition the apartment was in.
Liked least: It was a hassle sending the safety deposit from Australia (we lost money) and then took few weeks to get it back.

Kuhio Shores 412 Is fantastic. From the lanai we could view both the sunrise and sunset which isn't possible from most of the other condos. A great place to sit for breakfast and at the end of the day for a glass of wine while watching the sun go down and the board riders catch their last waves of the day. Every morning we watched turtles in the sea feeding just a stones throw away.

The snorkelling gear and beach chairs were well used. The Condo is very quiet apart from the sounds of the ocean. Being on the top floor meant there were no worries with privacy. The ceiling fan in the bedroom was great.

Location was good and it was only a short drive to a nice sandy beach fronting the Kiahuna Resort. Shops and restaurants are within walking distances. Kuhio Shores is a well maintained complex and parking is easy.
