It was disappointing, pictures look better than the actual. Nice place but very old. Positives are it is close to the water, nice pool. I was ocean front and it felt overpriced. Location is very good,

We stayed here one night. We booked it because it was nearby the airport and we just needed a place for one night of sleep. Our room was comfortable and clean. I agree with past reviewers that say it is a little bit dated but that also adds to it's charm. The complimentary breakfast consisted of fresh fruit and pastries, which we enjoyed under a patio while it rained. A super fun feature of this hotel is the manager will give little talks about the history and culture of the island. Inside the small lobby there is even a little display of ancient Hawaiian artifacts.

We spent four nights at the Kauai Inn, and we loved everything about our stay. The room was clean and spacious, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel grounds were gorgeous, with palm trees, flowers, lizards, and birds. The complimentary breakfast (fresh fruits and breads) in an outdoor space was a lovely way to start each day.

We met the hotel manager, Ron Kikumoto, during breakfast, and he graciously offered to show us his collection of native Hawaiian artifacts. We went to his office, and he gave us a thorough explanation of Hawaiian history, culture, and artifacts. He also gave us some recommendations of things to do on Kauai and even on the Big Island, where we were headed next. If you stay at the Kauai Inn, be sure to talk with Ron!

Room Tip: Second floor rooms might be quieter.

This place was a pleasant surprise for the last day of our trip. Our bathroom felt a tad dated, but the room itself was clean and charming. Continental breakfast (various breads plus some fresh fruit) was included in the courtyard overlooking the pool. We didn't actually use the pool, but it looked nice enough, if a little small.

The location was convenient in some ways -- close to the airport, and within driving distance of both the north and south shores. But it's not on a beach, and it's near a somewhat unattractive industrial area (one of the only such areas on Kauai). The mountains in the backdrop are pretty though.

One word of caution: There are a million chickens roaming around the island, and you'll hear them crowing at all hours around the property. Pack earplugs if you're a light sleeper.

Overall it was a nice stay, and we'd return if we ever found our way back to Kauai.

Location of the property was good. Rooms were big but dated. The room which was given to us had mold in the bathroom. The staff was friendly and co-operative. They changed our room .Breakfast was good. Overall good stay.
