We have stayed at Kalanipu'u every year since they opened in 2011 and just love it there. The villas are wonderful, open and spacious and the grounds are beautiful, the landscaping is always very well kept. Every room has a view. There are a lot of activities available: exercise, meditation, yoga, aqua, and more. There are also social events such as an afternoon get-together and root beer float afternoons. The staff are all helpful and friendly. We have already booked our stay for next year, we love it there.

Room tip: All villas have good views - most are ocean view, some are ocean front. The first floor is garden View.

I'm not one to casually throw out 5 star ratings, but I do here because of the amazing location and the care at which this property is maintained. The ground are immaculate; the villas are lovely and well stocked. Two things we wished for though: 5 star locations should have bathrobes. Also, the master bedroom light switch was wired to an overhead light AND the lamps. Therefore, you had to get out of bed to turn everything off. Didn't bother mentioning it to engineering, but there needs to be a workaround for this. Makes no sense.

We’ve loved it here! The staff have been friendly, parking is easy, it’s close to grocery stores/Starbucks/shopping. Very spacious space in a 2/2. Love having the washer/dryer in the suite. The bath products are amazing!

The housekeeping staff is phenomenal! They come by every day to replenish supplies.

Furniture is comfy, showers are perfect and the subzero fridge is great!

The grounds are incredible. The view is spectacular. We love it!

We are owners and have been to many Vacation club properties. For our family this resort is ideal. It is quiet and small. We enjoyed not having to battle for lounge chairs poolside. It was a beautiful pool despite in its size. We were not bothered by its lack of proximity to a beach. We did have a pool /beach day at the beach club next door. The condo is huge and well appointed. My only complaint is that there should be two beds in the second bedroom. The speed bumps going in need to be lowered. They are way too harsh. If you like quiet and easy access to the rest of the island, I would highly recommend Kauai Lagoons.

I debated between 3 and 4 stars. This is a difficult review of offer, especially as a Marriott owner.
The positives: lovely property with delightful views; quiet and relaxing- did not feel disturbed by the airplanes; staff are exceptionally friendly and try to be helpful at all times; the two bedroom unit is spacious, including a laundry room; parking is plentiful and spaces are large; shuttle service is reliable.
Negatives: We requested a high floor (I.e. 2nd fl within our reservation guideline) but were given a first floor unit that opened right out onto the property. Since our daughter had to use the sofa bed (more on that later), the open flow onto the resort grounds meant we had to keep the lanai doors closed. Moreover, despite two repair attempts, the side door/master bedroom access to the lanai did not work. I have to take responsibility for not paying close enough attention to the floor plan details, because I assumed that the two bedroom unit would have a large second bedroom (with a sofa bed or additional bed); since I did not pay sufficient attention to this important detail, one member of our 4 person family had to sleep on the sofa bed in the living room. This could have worked out fine, even with the first floor location, but the sofa bed was perhaps the most uncomfortable, unserviceable sofa bed I have ever seen. The mattress springs poked right through, and the mattress pad was extremely sad. Additionally, the lovely kitchen and dining room suffered from a general lack of cleanliness. I attribute this less to regular housekeeping and more to the lack of deep cleaning (sticky cabinets and tables edges, stained curtains, crusted blender) as well as perhaps previous guests who put dirty items back into the cabinets (we had to wash all the wine and water glasses before use, and then felt cautious about all the other kitchenware). The master bedroom/ bathroom was comfortable but the lack of charging outlets on/near the bed tables is unhelpful. The large laundry room would benefit from a drying line and the extra closet in the laundry could be equipped with hangers or hooks- so much wasted space.
Finally, the location is a very good one for visiting all parts of the island. Convenient grocery shopping is nearby. So are the resources of the Marriott Beach Resort, but I found that property to be overwhelming (we did have two dinners there). I am hopeful that management will attend to some of the issues mentioned because this is a lovely property that should have a steady stream of satisfied guests.
