This was a great resort. The resort is on the beach although our unit was not facing the beach. It is well worth the Silver Crown Rating. Kapaa is a great location to stay on Kauai. It is an easy drive to all parts of the island. I think our unit was recently upgraded.

We stayed in a two bedroom, two bath, ocean front condo. Friendly staff, beautiful grounds with pool, tennis court, miniature golf, and shuffle board. Laundry room on the grounds too.

The restaurants are walking distance, the family Ono restaurant was really good, don't eat at Olympic Cafe! The Shrimp Shack was pretty good too if you fried shrimp.

WE've stayed at Pono Kai in Kapaa' three time now. We love the location as it is within walking distnace of many shops & restaurants. The staff is friendly, helpful & always willing to do whatever they can to make your visit/vacation a wonderful experience. The one drawback of staying anywhere in Kapaa' is the traffic! It's fine is you're going north, but going south or east is challenging. Bumper to bumper most days. The up-side is that everyone on the road is courteous & patient....especially the people who live on the island.

I’ve been staying here since 1987. Beachfront property with pool, tennis and lovely grounds. Family attitude among staff. Rooms are comfortable with expected conveniences. So central to Kapaa food and activities.

We visited in February 2016 and February 2018. Location was great, we could walk to town, boutiques and restaurants were great. We had a one bedroom unit. Pool area was small and was occupied most of the time with kids, so difficult to enjoy. Walking on the paved path was really nice, but the beach was difficult to climb down to. Enjoyed the odd seal basking on the beach.

Just returned from Cayo Santa Maria Cuba July 2018 and off to Riviera Maya next, booked and ready to go.

Love the fun in the Sun with my Hun

Room Tip: Ocean view
