This hotel has amazing views of the pool and beach. It is a great location - walking distance from the 2 market/shopping centers and excellent beach. The room is very comfortable - we were in a recently renovated room - only advice is change the layout of the bathroom and closet - the door is shared and slides to close the bathroom while opening the closet. If you are getting something out of the closet and someone goes in or out of bathroom they slide the door open, which closes closet door and may run over fingers and toes. This happened a couple times to the kids. Only negative about the place.
Breakfast buffet was great - expensive though. Pools were fun and lively but not crowded at all. One had a slide that the kids loved with a hot tub next to it so we could relax and watch kids at same time. They have another infinity pool which they keep heated. Very nice! The highlight for us was the beach activities hut run by Ocean Sports. You can pay for each individual activity or on Sundays Wed and Thur you can use all of it for $40 per person. Excellent deal - kayaks, glass bottom boat tour, water bikes, paddle boards - and the staff is very good and attentive. One of the staff , Jeff, was kind enough to take out our youngest on a paddle board trip that she loved!
The front desk and Asia the concierge were very helpful. Had a great stay and hope to return.

We recently stayed at the Waikoloa Marriott for ten nights and were so pleased with all aspects of our stay! We were a bit concerned about the construction taking place in the hotel but need not have worried; it is almost finished with the exception of Hawaii Calls restaurant on the ground level, however the restaurant was temporarily moved to the Paniolo Terrace which was beautiful. The ground floor restaurant is almost finished though and we could tell that it is going to be lovely.

We stayed in an oceanfront room that was newly renovated and very well appointed. There was lots of storage space, a good bathroom and the beds and linens were very high quality.

The hotel grounds are so beautiful and well maintained and we loved wandering the paths around the fish ponds between the beach and the hotel. We enjoyed relaxing around the pools in the afternoon after a morning of sightseeing and never had a problem finding loungers. There are three good sized pools, and the temperature is kept nice and warm. The pool bar staff were fast and efficient and we enjoyed a few afternoon Mai Tai’s. Most afternoons they brought around complimentary ices, cake or some little treat which we thought was a nice touch.
We ate breakfast most mornings at Hawaii Calls on the Paniolo Terrace and were pleased with the value and quality of food. We did not eat from the buffet, but chose from the menu and found the food to be great quality and reasonably priced.

We chose this hotel because of the location and it did not disappoint – on the sunny Kohala Coast, near the beach and within walking distance to the Kings Shops and the Queens Market where we were able to enjoy some great restaurants and a couple of drinks in the evening then wander back to the hotel. Also, the Lava Lava Beach Club just down the beach is a great for an afternoon happy hour!
Staff around the hotel were pleasant and service was very efficient. Overall, a great holiday and we will definitely return to the Marriott.

A special thank you to Debbie Thompson; before our arrival, she answered all of our questions related to the construction with honesty and went out of her way to ensure we had an enjoyable stay at the hotel.

We stayed here 4/16-4/22. The hotel was under going renovation so the employees were doing well to adapt around it. We stayed in a recently renovated room with a pool view. The room was very nice and it had a wonderful walk in shower. The pools are nice as is the beach. The restaurant suffered a bit from the lack of patrons due to construction but the food was good. On our checkout day the very kind staff allowed us the short term use of a room to clean up and shower before heading to the airport. I would stay here again.

Normal guest, not a member. Stayed on the 2 bedroom oceanclub villa. AWESOME!
Clean, modern, beautiful. The beach is a quiet bay, little or no waves, relatively shallow. If lucky, you can see turtles! Shopping nearby. I would definitely return here. Lobby renocations are not bothersome.

I remember the day when you went to a hotel and were treated like kings or at least like guests. I stayed at this hotel for 3 days in May and it honestly was the worst customer service I have ever seen. The staff here are unhappy. Management could care less about having customers. I had a complaint while I was there about one day receiving free coffee and the next day being charged 7 dollars for it, and management told me some days its free and some days its not. Coffee is included in the breakfast that I paid 25 dollars extra for to be included, yet management didn't want to give me coffee. I won't go in to the whole story because it is ridiculous, but at the end of the day I asked the manager if one cup of plain coffee is worth losing a customer over, and they really thought it was. Everything is under construction, and we found ourselves going to the Hilton each of our days here. For a comparable price you can stay at the Hilton where customers are kings.
