Missed it going West but turned around at Sheridan and found this out of the way Historic site. There is parking on site and interpetive signs along with a museum with the history of this fort which was built to protect the Bozeman Trail which was being used for immigrants going to the rich gold fields in Montana.. The fort only stood for about 2 years and after it closed the Indians burnt this hated sign of the White Man's incursion into their country.
