I'll start by saying I feel guilty about given the Chamberlin Hotel a 2 star rating. The hotel itself is lovely, centrally located in Cody, just off the main street. The décor is characterful and the staff were all totally fabulous. There's a well appointed bar, a pleasant conservatory and a great garden to sit out in, we even had a talented country singer play an acoustic session in the garden one evening. So why only 2 stars? We stayed 2 nights and had practically no sleep in that time - that's my one "essential" in any hotel stay. There were a number of contributory factors: not enough room in bed - the bed itself was wide enough but the mattress domed, so if we wanted to use the last 6 inches on either side, we're fall out of bed. The room was too hot - there was aircon, but the AC unit was old and very loud it offered no chance of sleep when on. Other noise around the hotel - our room (Room 12, I think) was on the ground floor between an alleyway (light traffic throughout the night) and the hotel bar/corridor, so we had guest noises. It was such a shame. It may be that if we'd been in another room this would be a 4 or 5 star review, but I can only judge from the experience that we had and there were no other rooms available when we stayed for us to move to.

Room tip: Avoid Room 12

We only got one night at this true historical gem. Trust me, all the positive things you read about this absolutely true. The aesthetic and charm of it is breathtaking. They have kept the historical feel while retaining modern cleanliness and hospitality. Wonderfully accommodating staff never late to give a helping hand. Just wonderful. I'm grateful we had a chance to stay. Thank you!

Step back in time and experience the best of Cody as it used to be. This renovated gem in the heart of town provides a warm and inviting home away from home. The small old-time bedrooms provide comfortable beds with luxury bedding and small old-time bathrooms. Antique dial telephones and period desks complete the ensemble. Spend your free time in one of the lounges, libraries, enclosed porches or out in the glorious gardens and join in the cocktail hour gatherings to meet fellow travelers and share experiences and western adventures.

Room tip: Ask for a room overlooking the garden unless you don’t care about what’s outside the window.

Stayed there en route to Yellowstone. The room was very nice. The garden in the back of the hotel was a lovely place to spend the evening. Cody is a very "walkable town". The "Chamberlin" was delicious.
