This is our second stay at Wilderness on the Lake, and I venture a guess that it will not be our last.
We rented a 2 BR condo for the weekend, and we're very pleased with the accommodations. This rental is quite large, with plenty of room for both gathering together as a family (4 adults and 2 kids would be comfortable), and places for some individual quiet time. The condo overlooks pine trees, and the beautiful lake just beyond. It is a very tranquil setting, making this a very viable relaxing destination just a short distance from Madison.
The kitchen is equipped with enough cookery for basic meal preparation, and enough dishes/serving ware for a family of six. More in-depth cooking may be a challenge, but we found all the necessary pots and pans to prepare a spaghetti meal. For those who want to cookout, there are community gas grills located on the outside patio. Dish soap is available, but paper towels and salt and pepper is not.
Our reason for staying was to relax, and for the most part, we were able to achieve just that. The 4 season porch that has a 4-person whirlpool, was used multiple times, as was the indoor/outdoor whirlpool at Cubby's Cove. For families with younger children, this smaller watermark is a great option for a less crowded, less overwhelming choice.
However, being on the 3rd floor of a 4 floor building, proved to be much more noisy than anticipated. We could hear walking, doors opening and closing and patio doors sliding at all hours of the day. Worse were the times that it sounded as if people were running and jumping off of furniture, causing our room below to vibrate. We brought up our concern to the front desk, and some of the noise and vibrations lessened, but still continued periodically until about 11:00 at night. Part of the problem, I am assuming, is due to rude patrons. But I also think that the sound proofing here is lacking.
All in all, couples and families will find very spacious, lovely accommodations for a wonderful get away. Staying at a top level floor may be a better bet for a quieter, more relaxing experience.

Room Tip: Watch for weekend discounts. Request rooms on the upper most floor.

Exceptional place to visit for a family or romantic getaway. Two bedroom condo was clean and equipped with a full kitchen, a jacuzzi, and two fireplaces. Beautiful view of the lake. Room service stopped by to drop of fresh towels and tidy room on our 2nd day. Overall excellent place to unwind.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom condo on the Lake. Our stay was great, plenty of room for three couples to adjust to each other, and plenty of room for quiet time if necessary. Cleaning staff was prompt each morning in changing towels, and garbage liners. Maintenance staff quick response to replace a dysfunctional hair dryer.

Room Tip: The condo was missing either a ice bucket or at least something to store ice in the freezer.

This was our first visit to the Wisconsin Dells. I found this resort online and booked it for 5 nights. Excellent location and quiet location in comparison to the main resort across the lake. Excellent service with water taxi and shuttle rides to the water parks at the main resort. Only issue we had was our room did not get cleaned for two days and we had to call for towels and to have the garage removed. Our 2 bedroom condo slept 9 with a king bed in the master, with 2 queen beds in the second bedroom. Having the full kitchen with the washer and dryer was very nice to have for the week.

Room Tip: I would suggest the Wilderness on the Lake, if you want a quieter location, but yet have the activities and pools at the main resort.

We stayed at Wilderness Lake. Gorgeous rooms. I think it's a bit overpriced even taking into consideration the parks are "free" with accommodation. Their shuttle system needs improvement, probably just more vehicles to run the loops. Staff was helpful and when we had items in our room that needed fixing maintenance was right there.
