As the reviewer of another Washington Island property stated: "First of all, you have to understand that Washington Island is a retro kind of place" -- That's absolutely essential. If you are expecting night life, high-end, ultra-modern furnishing, then visit New York City. But if you want to relax and unwind among friendly people in a gorgeous natural setting this is the perfect location. The rooms do not have a television set; there is reliable wireless in only one area of the breakfast area and there is no air-conditioning, only fans. However, the bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very clean. There are very comfortable arm chairs surrounding a stone fireplace, plenty of chairs overlooking Green Bay and books and board games galore. The pace is leisurely and the hosts friendly and helpful. Guests sit and chat with each other and even challenge each other to checkers, backgammon or cribbage. You can launch a kayak from the beach, as well as swim or go wading. Yes, it is that type of "land that time forgot.."
The breakfast is excellent and extremely reasonably priced.More
