We booked a room with bunk beds for the kids so they could tag along during their spring break on my business trip. We checked in and everything was good, got unpacked and into our room. When it was time for bed, we peeled back the sheets on the twin bunks and they were full of crumbs, wrappers and chocolate stains. Someone must have just used the old sheets and remade the bed. We ripped off those nasty sheets and went to the front desk to get new ones. No one from management even came to talk to me regarding the issue, even after I stopped down and asked to talk to them. Instead some bossy housekeeper busted in to "see what was going on." Ridiculous customer service.

Room Tip: choose a different hotel

Steven,

Thank you very much for providing some feedback on your recent stay at our hotel. It is definitely understandable to be dissatisfied with the lack of cleanliness found in your suite--especially as you brought your family with you. We sincerely apologize for the bed not being changed and for the lack of empathy shown by our staff when you reported the issue.

This is unacceptable to us, and we will ensure that proper follow-through happens with our staff.

A member of our management team will be following up with you to discuss this further.

Thank you,

Noall Silvester

We had some issues while staying at the hotel this past weekend. One of them was something that is not the hotel's fault. They had some issues with the hot water, which they did fix after a few hours, unfortunately that meant a cold morning shower. The bigger one was the beds. We stayed in two different rooms as I had requested a room change due to how badly the bed sagged in the middle as it had little to no support left in it. When we switched rooms the bed was better but still sagged quite a bit which made for some uncomfortable sleeping conditions. The hotel overall seemed clean and seems like a great place to attend a convention since everything is easily accessible via long wide hallways. The waterpark area is nice but small so it's relatively easy to keep track of the kids from everywhere except the hot tub. With a small kids area, hot tub, basketball area and the slide it offers a little something for most people. The slide is a lot of fun but once the place starts to get busy I felt it got really small and really crowded very fast. Overall though, except for the bed (which is a big thing) the staff was friendly and if it weren't for the beds it would be a good place to stay.

Room Tip: Pick a room away from the lobby or pool are if you want to get some sleep.

John B,

Thank you for your detailed and candid feedback on your recent stay at our hotel. We are very sorry about what happened with the hot water--taking cold showers is not a fun experience! Unfortunately one of the ignitors on one of the hotel's hot water heaters needed to be replaced.

We are also sorry about the condition of the mattress in your room. Although this doesn't fix the issue that you had when you stayed, we are preparing to renovate all of our guest rooms, and will be replacing all of our guest room mattresses.

Thank you for your observations about the hotel's Splash Point water area, as well as the convention space.

We invite you back to our hotel when our guest room renovation is complete (if not, before), and appreciate your comments.

We just got back from a family reunion/anniversary gathering and this hotel was selected because of the meeting facilities, central location in the state and pool. There were a LOT of families with kids using the pool here, and I can't blame them for that in February for a getaway but our room (174) was very near the pool and there was a constant parade of screaming children filing by. The rooms are typical Holiday Inn for this part of the state, could use updating but clean. Beds not comfortable with two adults. Very thin walls, you can hear everything going on next to you which for us was a childrens birthday party. They were short staffed on cleaning personnel around 20 of us arrived all at the same time, so the rooms were not ready for everyone. We were able to check in early due to my priority membership, the staff were accommodating given the amount of people. This hotel is just fine for a school sports outing, but not someplace I would pick for a vacation destination.

Room Tip: Not room 174 or any on that wing

We had our state convention here and was very happy being able to check in early being a rewards member. The rooms service and food were all very good. Happy to be here instead of Chula Vista. We had two meals here and both were very good. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

I chose the Holiday Inn for a family reunion because of its central location in the state. The facility is easily accessible from the highway and includes guest rooms, meeting rooms, and a restaurant. Reserving the two-room hospitality suite allowed our group of 22 to bring in our own food rather than use the catering service. The room included a microwave and an apartment refrigerator. Extra tables and chairs were provided. The bedroom area was separate from the larger room. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was brightly lit and clean. We made use of an unused bar area near the convention center to play family games in the evening. The pool area was ideal for the group. There's a shallow area for toddlers, a deeper area with basketball hoops, a whirlpool, and a two-story slide that kids and adults enjoyed. Those were the positives of our stay.
The things to watch out for included:
The reservations department and a male staff member at the front desk were not in agreement on the early check-in policy which got things off to a really bad start.
We encountered a ridiculous wait in the restaurant, as did other family members. We ended up leaving before ordering just because we couldn't wait any longer. The staff appeared to be very disorganized and in need of training.

Beatriz121,

Thank you for sharing some feedback for our future guests on things that went well for you as well as some challenges that you had with your stay.

We were pleased to host your family gathering last weekend. It appeared that most guests had a very enjoyable time, and we hope to welcome you back next year!

Just a quick comment on our early check-in policy: we are pleased to offer early check-in, when available, with priority given to our IHG Rewards Club members. In your party's case, the suite you booked was occupied the night before your arrival by another guest. Check-out time is noon, and we were unable to offer an early arrival for this room.

We are sorry that we were not able to service your group in our restaurant in an acceptable amount of time. We will work to improve this mishap.

Thanks again,

Noall Silvester
