My husband and I like to seek out new restaurants and have recently been focused on finding good supper clubs in our area. We had not heard of Kutzee's before but found it was just 1/2 hour away so we went to check them out on a cold January night. It's located right off of Hwy 29, so finding it is a cinch. The owner had the place decorated very nicely for Christmas. When you enter the bar, you'll notice it's small but friendly and cozy. Seems like a place where a lot of locals go and know each other, but welcome new faces.
The menu is just right - lots of variety of classic supper club fare - steaks, seafood, chicken...My husband loved his prime rib and my broiled cod was delicious.
The couple at the table next to us struck up a friendly conversation and we all had some good laughs. All in all it was a very nice way to spend a cold January evening in Wisconsin.

The first time I stopped here, everyone stared, which felt a little awkward. It was obviously a local hangout. However, the food was delicious and the atmosphere is relaxed. This is homestyle food served at the old-fashioned relaxed pace that used to be the norm. On my most recent visit, the baked fish was a little dry, but came with lots of melted butter. The sides were delicious and the waitstaff were friendly and competent. Although this is a popular location, the wait was reasonable. Expect to spend an hour or more lingering over the good food. There is also a bar, and they serve delicious ice cream drinks for dessert if you wish (grasshopper, pink squirrel, etc.).

A typical Wisconsin supper club, nicely decorated. Lots of locals were here on a Friday night. The owner, Kathy, was at the bar and very friendly. We definitely dropped in on other people's lives with our visit, but from what other patrons told us, the owner will remember who we are if we return in the future. The food was fine. I had the fish fry and my partner had chicken (which was recommended by the waitress) - so we could sample some of each. The fish was tasty but the chicken was overcooked (deep fried) and the breading needed seasoning.
We'll return for the friendly atmosphere and the supper club experience where "everyone knows your name."

The owner is usually tending bar, the decor is unique and changes by seasons (or some other cycle), a unique atmosphere that we really love. Good food, friendly people, wish it were a little closer to us so we could get there more often. Only complaint: Closed 2 or 3 days a week, so one should call ahead.
