Spring Valley Inn keeps it very simple: a quiet room, an excellent breakfast, and convenient proximity to American Players' Theater. Everything about our stay made us realize we should have always been staying at Spring Valley Inn for our yearly trip to Spring Green. You pay a bit more for the quality, but the attention to detail here makes it well worth it. We were not prepared for the good-sized swimming pool and the excercise area, amenitites we will take advantage of in future visits.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back and front border quiet areas.

This is a lovely place to stay. It is not high end, not super fancy, does not have lots of perks. However, it has beautiful grounds, indoor pool and an outdoor fire pit. The two sons that took care of check in, and the bar were friendly and happy to light the fire pit for us. They do have a rule that to use the fire pit, your need to buy your drinks at the bar, but did not find that to be a problem. Drinks were no more expensive than going to a restaurant bar. Being able to sit outside and enjoy the fire was a great treat!

There are picnic tables and grills outside for your use and there is a very small play area for kids. If you want to bring your own liquor and food there is plenty of outdoor space you can sit. The breakfast featured "real" eggs and tasty sausages, fresh fruit and Danish.

The rooms are big enough for two people, but don't expect large rooms, expensive toiletries or fancy trappings. The rooms are simply very clean and quiet. The curtains etc. we're older but again, very clean. The rooms and grounds were well take of and since it is off the major roads, quiet at night. Will stay here again!

We were looking for a place close to House on the Rock, that was clean and comfortable. The firepit is actually what caught our eye upon initial review of hotels in the area. While it was incredibly hot this weekend, so we didn't get to enjoy a firepit, the grounds were well kept, the facilities very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the fact that it was kept very much in the design of the FLW era, but had modern comforts of new mattresses, mini fridge, pool, hot tub, etc. The breakfast was great and there was plenty of seating. The restaurant wasn't serving food, but they had drinks available if we wanted them. By far the biggest asset to this little hotel is it's employees. They were incredibly friendly, and so helpful. They helped us locate a nearby place to eat, providing us directions and tips. At breakfast the lady preparing it was very cheery and welcoming. Checkout was great too! The lady at the front desk suggested places to see and made sure we were set to enjoy a day at House on the Rock, even giving us extra tokens to use! We definitely would visit again, and we highly recommend this little place. It is most definitely a hidden little gem.

We appreciate your kind words. We try to not only provide our guests with a clean and comfortable stay but also pride ourselves on our customer service which is all too often forgotten at times. We like to think that all of our guests are staying in our home without the risk of sounding cliche. We look forward to your next visit!

Just a few miles from the FLW house this hotel is perfect after the two hour tour and when in need of a rest. The hot tub was most welcome to ease the tired legs and to do some exercise in the pool.
My only issue was the demeanor of the receptionist which was not all that welcoming which detracted from an otherwise enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: I suspect they are all very much the same

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. We aren't exactly certain of the details of your experience with one of our receptionist but do apologize. We would like to assure you that we are a family run operation that does pride ourselves on our customer service. We would like to believe that their may have been a misunderstanding of character but do hope you will stay with us the next time you are in the area.
