Service was very good. The food (steak, chicken) was way over cooked and heavily salted, the vegetables were frozen, the desserts looked like commercial cakes so I wasn't even tempted to try one. We did have two meatballs that were excellent. It's too bad the whole dinner wasn't Italian as they seemed to do much better with the meatballs than anything else.

This was in their Cafe Venerdi, which is open to the public on Friday evenings. Go early and eat late. That's what we did. With six of us we waited well over an hour for our food to arrive at the table. Two of the dishes were on the cool side. But not wanting to wait some more time, we made do. The pizza was nothing spectacular. And the fish was so salty it was barely edible. Thought it may have been just the breading, but even the bare fish was salty. Service was ho hum. The waitress seemed like she would rather be somewhere else. That was our feeling also. Stick to being a banquet hall, because you're not doing well at being a restaurant on Friday nights. First and last time for all of us.

I have mixed feelings about Roma Lodge. I was here for a large party. The problem is that the food was served family style and it came out in just terrible stages. We got pasta which was luke warm but everyone ate, then 10 minutes later we got chicken. There was not enough for every one at the table and the cheese was so hard and over heated we could not cut it. We never new what was coming and the wait continued. More food came but after you ate the previous serving. You could tell the food sat way too long in the kitchen. Everything should have come out at once and the server should have informed us as to what was coming out. I think Roma Lodge is understaffed.

I hosted a dinner for my department and Jessica was extremely helpful as the original plans changed over time. The dinner was a success and the food was excellent. They even accommodated our need for a glutenfree menu. The GF pasta was excellent. I would have another event here. Although they mainly do special events and weddings, on Fridays, they do have Cafe Venerdi for fish fry and classic Italian dishes. Reservations suggested.
