Stopped while in town shopping. This place has been serving food under various owners since 1911. Not fancy, local cafe. Breakfast anytime. Service was good. Coffee never empty. Food was hot and plentiful. Enjoyed our meal

I have been going to this restaurant for many years and it has had many owners but retains its old fashioned vibe and delicious traditional food. The newest owners have stuck with the same decor and good old fashioned menu! Home cooked, fresh and always done right.
Had the Norwegian meatballs with mashed potatoes gravy, vegies and home baked swedish rye bread. Always awesome and today didn't disappoint. What did disappoint is we ate late and the homemade pie was all gone! Hope to go back again before the snow flies.

My kids stopped here on our way to weekend activites. Looked at the reviews on here and noticed people were giving it all high marks. We were impressed with the friendly and tentative waitstaff. And wonderful tasting food. They sell baked goods, which we did not purchase any but if we were back in the area would stop in for something-the breads looked yummy. The negative that we experienced with dining here was the not handicapped accessible bathroom. My daughter had a broken foot and I had recently injured my knee. With being the car for a while and needing to ride longer we wished to use the restroom facilities which were up a set of little stairs through a door up a big flight of stairs- even the restroom itself had a step: which boggled my mind enough to photograph it. Later we joined friends on our trip and told them were we had eaten; our friends mentioned that some of Mount Horeb’s eating establishments close for a while in the afternoon. We did not experience this nor pay attention to aside from traveling back through on Monday and it looked closed. So our suggestion is check the hours before going.

This place has been in the restaurant business since 1911 according to the info we got. Stopped here because the visitor center said this was a good place to eat. It was and I would have given it 5 stars if the service was better. It was near the end when they were shutting up and we had to sit in the front in the sun. The tables that would have fit us were filled with empty dishes that didn't get cleaned up until we were getting ready to leave.

Shubert’s Bakery and Restaurant is one of the main stays of Mt. Horub. Stepping inside is like stepping back in time. When a milk shake was made with real milk and ice cream. We watched them being made. One of the only places you can still get real Swedish Rye Bread. But the best is the Cinnamon Buns. If you think Cinnabon is good you’re in for a real treat. And at just $2 they are a bargain.
