Owner description: On December 2nd, 1987, brothers Russ and Jim Klisch opened Lakefront Brewery and sold their first batch of Riverwest Stein Amber Lager to a neighborhood tavern in Milwaukee. We have grown to brew 46,848 barrels of beer in 2017 and distribute our products to 35 states, Canada, Ukraine, Japan, Korea, Sweden and Australia. Lakefront Brewery was the first certified organic brewery in America, the first brewery to produce a government-approved, gluten-free beer and the first indigenous beer using all Wisconsin grown ingredients. We currently produce 20+ year-round and seasonal beers as well as our innovative one-off My Turn Series which gives each of our full time employees a chance to choose a style we've never brewed. Beer aside, Lakefront is also known around the country for their highly entertaining and sought-after brewery tours.

We stopped in for lunch and a few beers. Decided to take the tour and it was fun. I have never been on a tour where you can drink beer as you go but this one was the exception. The guide was hilarious and knowledgeable about the host of the company. We enjoyed it immensely.

We went on the tour here just to check it out as we were in from out of town and had a few hours to kill. The tour was a great price and included a glass and four tokens to try four different beers. The tour guide was hilarious and everyone had a great time. At end of tour you can turn in the plastic glass a get a souvenir glass to take home. Then we sat outside on the patio on the river. Then we purchased food for dinner. Everything was awesome. Highly recommend.

This was on the north end of Milwaukee along the river. The building was a cool old brick. Alot of the other buildings in this area were very new. We did a beer flight and all the beers were good! If you like beer and you're in Milwaukee, you should definitely check this place out!

If you are looking for a fun place with outstanding beer and good German style food, this is the place. The Stout and Bavarian dark larger are the best of the beers. The IPA’s are on the bitter side. The cheese curds are great and the warm pretzels with the pub cheese make you want another order. Take your beer and go outside and walk along the river, it is a great place to relax and have fun.

Cool building in a beautiful location.

I wasn't impressed with the food and beer, though. We had an average BLT and loaded mashed potatoes with chicken that wasn't nearly as good as I had hoped. Quality ingredients would have made it a quality dish.

There were a couple of decent beers, but none of them really stood out. The Soaker DIPA was my favorite, while the Eazy Teazy was one to stay away from.
