Owner description: On December 2nd, 1987, brothers Russ and Jim Klisch opened Lakefront Brewery and sold their first batch of Riverwest Stein Amber Lager to a neighborhood tavern in Milwaukee. We have grown to brew 46,848 barrels of beer in 2017 and distribute our products to 35 states, Canada, Ukraine, Japan, Korea, Sweden and Australia. Lakefront Brewery was the first certified organic brewery in America, the first brewery to produce a government-approved, gluten-free beer and the first indigenous beer using all Wisconsin grown ingredients. We currently produce 20+ year-round and seasonal beers as well as our innovative one-off My Turn Series which gives each of our full time employees a chance to choose a style we've never brewed. Beer aside, Lakefront is also known around the country for their highly entertaining and sought-after brewery tours.

Cool building in a beautiful location.

I wasn't impressed with the food and beer, though. We had an average BLT and loaded mashed potatoes with chicken that wasn't nearly as good as I had hoped. Quality ingredients would have made it a quality dish.

There were a couple of decent beers, but none of them really stood out. The Soaker DIPA was my favorite, while the Eazy Teazy was one to stay away from.

I can’t say enough great things about our experience. The tour was great, the beer was great, the ambiance was great! The staff was all so helpful in making recommendations and we had the worlds funniest tour guide, Ben. Highly recommend stopping in on your next trip to Milwaukee! CHEERS!

It is a very nice place, very familiar, they play music so that everyone can dance as a family, very fun for children. The food is very tasty, the attention is careful, the waitress serve in a quickly and kind manner!
Spacious and bright space, there is also the possibility of touring the beer plant.

Tour was great. Ben was hilarious. A must-do in Milwaukee. Plenty of tokens along the tour to grab a brew with friends.
