We went on a brewery tour with nine people in our group--two of them being under two yet we still had to buy tickets for them. I think they need to have under five yrs of age as free. Neither one of them drank any soda and both were carried the entire time. The tour group was huge, probably about 50 people. You couldn't hear the tour guide and although he seemed knowledgeable, even if you did hear him you wouldn't have been able to understand him because he was speaking soooo fast. They were shorthanded on the day we went and apparently wanted the tour to end as soon as possible. We wanted to hear more about the brewing of rootbeer and I think he said some things about it, but again it was so fast that I don't really know. I didn't learn anything new and have been on better brewery tours. The highlight is that your 21 and up wristband gets you four beer samples and you can have unlimited soda. Because we had so many over 21 in our group we successfully tried all their beers/hard ciders on tap that day. The best one was their Door County Cherry Soda. It's like everybody knows them for their rootbeer, yet they're trying to push the beer. We wouldn't go back for a tour. I gave an average because while their tour wasn't that great, you do get to try a lot of their drinks.

It’s rarely seen in Indiana so we had to get as much as we could. They have unique flavors and it’s delicious.
Not only that, they also have their own beer which is also delicious.

This brewery tour makes a point of including kids. Kids are given their own souvenir tasting cup and unlimited samples at the end. Kids were encouraged to ask questions. The tour itself is pretty short, but the beer samples at the conclusion were quite generous. The pretzels were tasty.

When looking for a weekend distraction we decided on touring the Sprecher Brewery. The big choice was between the $8 tour or the beer ancd cheese tasting for $20. Well we like cheese and beer so it was time for an adventure! The tour does not compare to a mega brewer like Miller, but you get a closer look at what is going on and have plenty of opprtunity to ask questions(as long as little kids don't keep dropping cups and distracting everyone). The Sprecher story is one of not accepting what everyone else was doing and bringing the world some better beers! After the standard tour the people on the tasting get taken to a seperate area. We tasted 10 different cheeses and beers paired with them. John and Sue did a good job of pointing out flavors to look for and what you may find. It was amazing that a horseradish cheese could make all the hoppiness and bitterness of an IPA competely disappear! After the 10 samples we were permitted to visit the beer garden to get a small taste of something that we hadn't tried and as much soda as we would like. It's great to see how Sprecher has continued to evolve from that very first tour in the new brewery I got to go on 23 years ago!

Loved this tour. Got to go back into the facility because they weren't producing. Enjoyed the hard sodas since I don't drink beer. It was family friendly. Nice gift shop. Informative tour guide.
