If you're looking for an upscale Mexican eatery, this may not be for you. If you are hankering for some good Hispanic food, where have you been? I have been to a number of good Mexican restaurants in North and East Las Vegas over the years. Great local food there, but really,a bit too far to go!

I found Meno's many years ago, 10 or so, and I can't stay away. Don't expect air conditioning and fancy bathrooms. This place has been open for a long time and shows its wear and tear. Expect good Mexican food and great margaritas.

I try go get the daily special, but I am always drawn back to the Verde (pork and green chile) enchiladas. So good! Made from scratch chips are good: there are hot and mild (green and red, respectively) sauces, and they can differ a bit from time to time but are still good. The rice and beans really stand out , too!

Meno needed back surgery for a number of years and finally got it done this year. By the time you read this he should be back turning out more of his excellent food! I could see a difference in the appearance of the food this summer, more than a big taste difference. I doubt many noticed. It was still pretty good while he was gone, but not Meno's!

We live in Green Lake and had heard about this place but never got around to finding it until last night (6/19/14). Superb margueritas..incredibly good food. We moved from northern IL 5 years ago and had a favorite spot there but this tops it by far in the taste arena. Authentic flavors..not like a chain. We will be back - soon. New waitress tonight but very friendly and attentive.

While it's true this place is out in the sticks...... It is by far the best Mexican food I have eaten!!! Meno the owner is Mexican and does speak some English . His girlfriend .. ( the hard working women tending bar and waiting tables) referred to as Lame in a previous review... May not come off as the friendliest ... But walk a mile in her shoes ... She has a heart of gold!! Her and her boyfriend have a hidden Gem that most people would appreciate!! If your in a hurry ... Yes sometimes they are very busy and service is slow but... Don't you go out to diner to relax ??? Go to Portage and eat at Taco Bell or the Lame So called Mexican restaurant in town if you want faster service and Lame Mexican food!!
Anyone who truly loves authentic ... Because it is.... Tamales, chili rejenos..Shrimp soup...Chicken Mole ( the best you will ever find!!!) will absolutely Love this place!!!!

My husband found this place years ago when we were dating and just loved it! We have been going there since. Best Mexican food any where. While it may be a dive it beats by far the pretentious five star restaurants in Madison. While the waitress may not seem friendly, she has to get to know you before she warms up. So don't judge the place because not everyone is a "warm fuzzy". Go for the amazing food!
