If you're looking for an upscale Mexican eatery, this may not be for you. If you are hankering for some good Hispanic food, where have you been? I have been to a number of good Mexican restaurants in North and East Las Vegas over the years. Great local food there, but really,a bit too far to go!
I found Meno's many years ago, 10 or so, and I can't stay away. Don't expect air conditioning and fancy bathrooms. This place has been open for a long time and shows its wear and tear. Expect good Mexican food and great margaritas.
I try go get the daily special, but I am always drawn back to the Verde (pork and green chile) enchiladas. So good! Made from scratch chips are good: there are hot and mild (green and red, respectively) sauces, and they can differ a bit from time to time but are still good. The rice and beans really stand out , too!
Meno needed back surgery for a number of years and finally got it done this year. By the time you read this he should be back turning out more of his excellent food! I could see a difference in the appearance of the food this summer, more than a big taste difference. I doubt many noticed. It was still pretty good while he was gone, but not Meno's!
