Our group rented The Manse the first weekend in December. It’s a large historic home in an ideal location w/ plenty of parking for a group. It’s located within very easy walking distance to several restaurants / shops and a very short drive away from the grocery store / nearby points of interest. The house itself is large, charming, very clean, and it has all the appliances / amenities needed for a week or a weekend. (Our group had to make a couple of unexpected changes and the owner was exceptionally kind and accommodating which helped us tremendously.) You can easily walk to the Greenbrier’s Christmas Shop a few yards away and the Christmas Shop is located directly across the street from the Greenbrier’s main entrance. Our whole experience was very positive and we will definitely be repeat guests.
[Other recommendations: The nearby Salt Cave & Spa is a one of a kind experience (highly! recommended). It is not the average day spa. The owners are very artistic / holistic and that’s reflected in the beautiful (partially underground) building and the services offered. They also own the Sanctuary, a new organic restaurant located in the yellow Victorian house across the street from The Manse. The food is both unique and delicious. We visited twice. Late night, 50 East Dining & Spirits on Main St. has excellent pizza, friendly service.]
