Owner description: Visit the Museum of American Glass in West Virginia to see a huge collection of brilliant colored and sparkling crystal glass by dozens of American manufacturers from 1860 to the present. We currently have around 20,000 items on display, including the 2nd largest collection of Steuben art glass in the world, the National Marble Museum, and our Lady Jane stained glass doll house. It is an experience through the history of glass.. It is hard to explain the beauty that you see as you walk through the museum. there is so much glass that it is hard to see it all in one visit. They also have a store in which you can purchase antique glass.

As a glass lover I totally and thoroughly enjoyed this museum. It was a destination for a short get away. My husband, not a glass lover even enjoyed himself and was in awe of all of the different displays. I can't wait for a return trip in the future. Also don't miss the gift shop; lots of cool items to purchase for yourself or gifts!!!

My husband and I planned a quick stop to the museum after a visit to the Asylum and before checking into the Stonewall Resort; I am so glad we did!

We both found it very interesting and really enjoyed talking with the museum curator. He gave us a bit of info about the museum and allowed us our space to browse through. Occasionally, he would come around a corner and point out interesting pieces that we would have definitely missed on our own: like the glass eye collection, a piece from space, and very note worthy historic pieces. He is really such an asset to the museum. This is a free museum that runs on a membership program and donations. Our donation was much more than it would have been without his insight, friendly manner, and the love he has for preserving the history of glass and WV.

This houses so many amazing collections. My husband enjoyed the marble, electrical glass pieces, and the work(woman)ship of stained glass doll house. I was drawn to the slag and carnival glass, and huge WV glass color samples- little owls! We spent atleast an enjoyable hour here. I would highly recommend checking it out!
