It was sunset and the owner who waited far too long for the reservation to arrive, let the last cottage go for us. Before I left the lobby, I noticed the pile of bike rags. " we really like bikers here." " Me too."
The largish cottage is heavily clad in wood, the bed is fine and the shower brisk. We had no time to try the kitchen because we were off early in the morning. I like the yellow accents and location; the internet is slow.

The Idle-A-While, as the name implies, is a tranquil place where one can spend a few days relaxing (or weeks like we dodo!). Stepping into the quaint cottages is like going back in time. In spite of the retro decor, the place is kept up; most recently by new tiling in the kitchens and bathrooms. The cottages come equipped with a refrigerator, oven, stove, drip coffee maker, toaster and cooking/eating utensils. One can also choose a hotel room for their stay. The spa has a jacuzzi, sauna, and a cozy fireplace. In addition to all the above, the housekeepers are friendly and keep the place neat and tidy. The location is a 5 minute walk to town.

Arrived 2pm on a Monday.
* Was barked at for several minutes by a dog before a grumpy woman in a red robe came out to charge us too much for the following room:
* TV didn't work
* Phone only made local land line calls. I had no cell phone service and was unable to call relatives cell from room.
* The bedspread was torn.
* Big Ugly creepy bug in bathroom
* Upside. Very comfortable pillow. Couldn't tell you what brand, as all the tags had been cut off.

Dogs occasionally bark. Woman in red robe has been dealt with. Our TV's always work. We have good cell service from Verizon. It is not our fault that your cell service wouldn't work. Our housekeepers are very good & we get compliments all the time on how clean our units are. They never use bedspreads that are torn.

This place has been for sale for ages and the current owners seem to have run out of momentum. It is outdated, dark, small. Just not a place I would choose to stay unless it was the last resort. Only marginally cleaned. Fixtures in the bathroom outdated and in need of replacement

Room Tip: Choose something away from the highway if you want to sleep with the windows open.

We have never charged $120.00 for 1 queen bed. $90.00 + tx for 2 person occupancy. There is also a dog fee. Perhaps you had some? We serve cakes, not muffins. You are free to take as much as you like as they are for your benefit.
