I took a friend who was retiring and moving to another state for High Tea. Oh, what a grand experience. The linens alone are worth going just to see and feel and enjoy. The food and presentations are awesome. Two weeks ago I had Tea at the Empress in Victoria and although more than twice the price, it wasn't as nice as this. Go and go often!

Visited for the first time for a birthday lunch with a friend. The decor is about 1900s. Some truly lovely pieces of antique furniture. This unique place has several different sized rooms for different occasions. The dominant color is a rich dark red on walls, tablecloths & lovely damask napkins. There are at least 2 fireplaces, one set up with 2 chairs & a chessboard ready for a game. There is a beautiful bar, although I did not see liquor on the menu. The light fixtures are vintage, some wall sconces, some lamps, some chandeliers. Overall the atmosphere is lovely & is complete with a grand piano that is played throughout lunch. The atmosphere is very calming. At present, they only serve lunch & high tea. Dinner service might be contemplated later in the year. The staff was very friendly & even though we were there on a day when only one waitress was there, the waitress who was there took good care of us & was very nice. You have your choice of high tea, with an assortment of small sandwiches & sides plus dessert. We opted to order off the menu. My friend had the chicken pesto sandwich & raved about it. I had the turkey with cream cheese & cranberry sauce on sourdough. Great flavor but hard to eat as it had too much cranberry sauce on it. Dessert options were several pie flavors, we had apple & pecan, plus chocolate mousse. In the foyer there are 2 chaise lounges covered with vintage hats that you can wear for high tea if you wish. All in all, a unique place with friendly staff & beautiful, calm atmosphere & the piano player is great. Give this place a try, you will be enchanted, plus they give you a voucher to pay for parking directly across the street.

The owners of The Olive Branch are delightful, gracious hosts! The restaurant is large but is divided into cozy nooks filled with vintage furniture, china, and artwork. Portions are generous with delicious soups and sandwiches, plus a selection of fragrant, loose tea. Perfect for a leisurely lunch with friends!

This place is simply stunning, the decor and attention to detail is beautiful. As an Englishman I can honestly recommend this Tea Room. The staff and Manager are so friendly and are clearly passionate about this hidden gem. Try the Salmon Chowder, its with out doubt the best I have tasted.
