Description: Welcome to the historic Steam Plant, site of an award-winning preservation effort and a landmark Spokane destination. The Steam Plant was built in 1916 and provided radiant steam heat to over 300 buildings in downtown Spokane until it closed in 1986. Avista and Wells and Company renovated the building and re-opened it in 1999, preserving much of the original working plant. While you're here, be sure to take a moment for a self-guided tour. Narrative displays are located throughout this one-of-a-kind building. We hope you enjoy our distinctive approach to dining, in which we work with local farmers and ranchers to create dishes that celebrate the best our region has to offer.

The atmosphere was fun as they left the industrial feeling but did an excellent job with the remodel. The food was good as was the service. Lots of options for both food and drink, and our server was excellent. They have some rooms for groups that could be fun like a table for 16 inside an old boiler.
The Trout was good, the ribs were meaty, and the corn bread appetizer is a must.

We were very excited for dinner at the newly renovated restaurant but very disappointed in the menu changes. Our bad for not checking the menu in advance, but we never expected that a 4 star restaurant we used to visit for Its steakhouse feel and quality would change to what amounts to bar food. Pizza and sandwiches make up the majority of offerings with limited fine dining selections. This was supposed to be a special occasion thank you dinner for a friend, alas, not so special after all. Just checked their website to see the menu and it's not posted. TripAdvisor referenced the old more preferred menu.

This was our last time to Steam Plant.

New menu is amazing, loved the food and service, but why close off the smokestacks to the public? What was the whole point of renovation if you close off the main attraction? Not very appealing for this born-and-raised Spokanite if for each visit I gotta cross my fingers that someone with deeper pockets didn't beat me to the punch. Unlikely to go again unless this policy changes.
