I stayed for one night at RL with my husband on our way to Sea-Tac from the Oregon coast. We thought the hotel would be an average highway budget hotel, but, for our surprise, our stay at RL was very pleasant.
The lobby and restaurant/bar area are really nice and modern, you can tell the hotel has been recently updated. There is even a coffee shop with an actual espresso machine!
The rooms are very clean, the bed is really confortable, and the bathroom has a great shower. You can tell that the rooms have been updated, especially the bathroom, however furniture is a little outdated (e.g. the sofa). I loved the tv (is huge!) and the bed, the sheets are impeccable. You have everything you need for a restful night.
I really enjoyed the perks you get for being a rewards member: they give you free breakfast (which is delicious, try their eggs benedict!), a $25 voucher for the bar and restaurant, one espresso coffee and water per guest, as well as free wifi.
Overall I really enjoyed my stay, and I think the hotel and service are really good for the value you pay.

Room Tip: Request a top floor

On a bus tour in Oregon and further problems with Red Lion Hotels due to under staffing. We were 30 minutes leaving the hotel on departure day due the fact only one person was on bag pull. Another poor breakfast experience due to food containers not being refilled. not enough staff to give good customer service.

TravelhappyEngland,
Thank you so much for taking the time to review our hotel. I apologize for your experience with food containers not being filled quickly during your breakfast. We try to put the freshest of offerings on the buffet as we possibly can. Sometimes when the whole group comes down at once it takes a moment to catch up. This was the case on the morning of your tour's departure. Thank you again for your review.
Safe Travels,
Les H.

Signed up for the RL membership and got a great deal. Two double beds for 3 people for less than $80!! Included great free breakfast, free dog rate and extra credit for the lovely restaurant overlooking the river. Rooms were 3*+ and somewhat upgraded--TV, desk, chairs and bathroom. Wallpaper still like other Red Lions a few years old. Clean room with updated laminate wood floors (great for dogs). Beds were comfortable and A/C wasn't noisy. Patio with sliding doors to nice lawn area was nice extra. One of the best hotels on our trip!

Room Tip: Patio rooms were quiet and all rooms updated July 2016.

coastlove,
Thank you so much for the wonderful review of the hotel. We are very happy to hear you liked the upgrades we recently finished, with the 55" TV's and the laminate wood floors as well as the upgrades to the membership advantages to name a few. Again thank you for the review and we will see you again next time you are in the area.
Safe Travels,
Les H.

I stayed for a business trip. It is situated in a small business park area and is generally close to most things in Olympia. The view is nice from the back side of the hotel. The drawbacks: there is no complimentary continental breakfast, internet is not secure, the hotel does have a dining room, but that is not practical if one has an early schedule. Also, the hotel is often used for big events so if you are late getting in you will not find parking close.

We rolled in after a long day hiking at Mount Rainier on our way to the Olympic Peninsula. Our initial disappointment at its location (slightly out of town) was quickly changed when we realized it was a nice, quiet location and they provided free bicycle rentals. The rooms were spacious and it was super quiet. Finding a nearby restaurant was easy using a large touch screen in the lobby. Staff was friendly, and best of all there was a free barista in the lobby who was serving Victrola espresso. How's that for hotel coffee?

realsmack,
Thank you so much for the amazing review. We are so happy to see you enjoyed the free bicycle rentals. The Info-Glass in the lobby is a wealth of information about the property and the surrounding location. The Victrola espresso in the lobby is an amazing addition to our recent renovation. It provides our guests with a free cup of award winning coffee to top off a great hotel experience. We cannot wait to serve you again.
Safe Travels,
Les H.
