Akari Bungalows
Reviewed 8 March 2016 via mobile

This is my 4th time staying at the Akari Bungalows. 2nd birthday visit weekend for my wife. We love staying here because of tears home away from home feeling we get. Cathay is wonderful as usual, very inviting and always calls us by our first names.

We stayed in #7 this time, and as usual the warmth of the room was so inviting as soon as you enter. Everything is there that you would need to complete your stay. 3 things that stood out that we hadn't noticed before.

The smell of the room was slightly moldy smelling. The bed was very hard and lumpy. When you sleep on the side closest to the door you sort of sleep in a semi deep canyon. My wife went to use he jetted tub, in the past we didn't he time to use it in the past so she was looking foward to it, but when she went to fill it up, bits of algae or mold started to come out of the jets and vents. It took her about 2 fill ups to finally get all text floatys out but at that point she lost interest and called it quits.

Despite the problems We do love the bungalows, and sure to return next year.

I really dont know to start. The manager at this bungalow is absolutely amazing! We were running very late and she not only waited for us but went in and turned our fireplace! She was so helpful, kind and accommodating ! The bungalow was adorable! Very clean and close to everything . Who ever employes this manager has a gold mine ! We wanted to take her home with us! We will definitely be back! Wonderful family friendly place!

What a wonderful way to spend a stormy Valentine weekend! We stayed two nights in bungalow #8. Cathy the Manager was fantastic. The room was adorable and had everything you could need: very comfy king size bed, gas fireplace, great jetted tub, flat screen tv & dvd player, and a fully stocked kitchen (even had wine glasses)...everything we needed to make a romantic and yummy gourmet Valentine dinner. The weather was super rainy, windy, and foggy. We were perfectly content in our own little world. Can't wait to go back this summer!! So glad I stumbled on this place online. There's putt putt golf across the street too!

Room Tip: Bungalow #8 was great!

Great location, great service and clean comfortable bungalow. We were looking for a short winter stop at the beach and returned to the cabins we stayed at many times over the last 30 years. We were happily surprised by the tremendous updating that had occurred without taking away the charm of the small cabins. Excellent use of the space and kept it very much in the character we come to expect with a stay in Long Beach.

Room Tip: Cabin #4 has a great gas fireplace and small attached deck with beach access and close to town
