This is my 4th time staying at the Akari Bungalows. 2nd birthday visit weekend for my wife. We love staying here because of tears home away from home feeling we get. Cathay is wonderful as usual, very inviting and always calls us by our first names.
We stayed in #7 this time, and as usual the warmth of the room was so inviting as soon as you enter. Everything is there that you would need to complete your stay. 3 things that stood out that we hadn't noticed before.
The smell of the room was slightly moldy smelling. The bed was very hard and lumpy. When you sleep on the side closest to the door you sort of sleep in a semi deep canyon. My wife went to use he jetted tub, in the past we didn't he time to use it in the past so she was looking foward to it, but when she went to fill it up, bits of algae or mold started to come out of the jets and vents. It took her about 2 fill ups to finally get all text floatys out but at that point she lost interest and called it quits.
Despite the problems We do love the bungalows, and sure to return next year.
