This Is really a pub and there was a football game on their tv, but combine that with a long wait and too it off with burnt French fries and tasteless fish, it was too much.
Won't go back

So on the island visiting my sister, and this is her to go place for quick shopping and breakfast. A nice old school family run market and deli that has a few tables in the back of the store with a small kitchen specializing in home made sandwich's, burritos, pastries, beer ect. A nice country store decor. I have eaten here maybe 10 times, all with good reviews. My sis is a full time regular who loves the place. It seems to be very popular with the locals. For sure, I'll be back on my next visit

On the first night we were on Whidbey Island visiting our son and daughter in law , friends of theirs brought us to the Greenbank Grille for supper. There were eight of us and our table was reserved as they knew the owners. The Grille is upstairs from the Greenbank Country Store. It's a real 'locals' place where everyone seems to know everyone there. It's rustic and seems like it's been there forever. The owner came over and talked to us for awhile and our server was great. Drinks came quickly and we're reasonably priced. The menu was more extensive than expected with burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, and full dinners that included local specialties. I had a pastrami Reuben that was really good with lean, piled high pastrami. My husband had the fish and chips that was just okay, with two pieces of fish. "He's had better", as he said. The onion rings appetizer was yummy and disappeared quickly. It was a noisy place and we definitely added to the noise. If in the area, give the Greenbank Grille a try.

Nothing special about the place or the food. Overpriced for what is served. Casual, funky, but not appealing. Won't be back.

We had lunch here and everything was a little off, except for the friendly and attentive service. Our French press coffee was weak, the huge hamburger was dry, and the water had a strange flavor. This is an interesting restaurant and bar above a very old general store, but the setting was better than the food.
