The Canyon Grill has a limited entrée menu but it packed with excellent choices. the fish is fresh, the Rib Eye is 2nd to none and both were prepared beyond expectations. the service team was friendly, attentive and available if needed for additional beverages (great cocktails). entrees were will priced and large portions. The grill is deserving of many trips for a great meal, quiet surroundings and exception service. one of the finest dining experiences I have had in many years.

Had dinner there before the change in management and had a so so dinner. With the new menu and personnel, there has been a great improvement. Had Valentine's Day dinner and it was very well done. Great food and service. Highly recommend this place for dinner.

I hesitate to write about his- because I don't want it to be crowded next time we think of it! But that's too selfish, so here goes. First of all, the Canyon is glorious- so the ride there and back is fantastic if its light out. If dark, be careful- its windy and there are animals around. The place itself is very cute - although there are still building plans going on for more cabins so I hope its personality doesn't change. That said, its smallish, on the river and the service is great and the food was first rate. It was steaks and prime rib ( they serve it on special nights) all the way for the three of us- and all the accompanying side dishes were delicious too. My family lives in Ellensburg and this will be our new go to place.

Update to my review from the past few years... Sunday night dining experience. Place was about half full at 6 and we sat out on deck. They seemed a tad understaffed but we still obtained decent service. Food was very good we had seasonal salad, clam pot, and grits and wine and desserts- all dishes seemed very well prepared and all be it they were running out of mussels in the pot we still had a very good dish. The only issue with our experience was service being adequate and no one presented us with specials but the table who sat after us (different server) was presented specials. Kinda heartbreaking. Menu ( and wine menu as well) is a tad limited but it's a smaller venue. Wine menu needs upgrading following seasonal trends like adding some Rose' but the Sunday wine deal is great. Tip: get more staff on weekends- summer is the time to make $ -

I was with a large group who had been at a reception in the Lodge and we all wanted a light meal afterwards--there was a varied menu with small to large plates, and every single person was happy with the quality of the food and service. The view of the Yakima River Canyon from the window or deck is stunning. This is a great place for family dining but given its setting, it's also a nice place for a romantic dinner.
