Yes, the food is good, the wait staff is attentive and amiable, and the ambiance is warm and inviting in this restaurant housed in the historic Campbell's Inn in Chelan.
But, come on! The prices have gone Sky-High! I mean, here are some examples;
APPLEWOOD SMOKED RIBS
CHICKEN POT PIE
$25, you gotta be kidding! It's a pot pie!
RIB EYE STEAK
$16, for a hamburger for crying out loud!
And you don't escape the bandits in Sherwood Forest just because you're a vegetarian-
$18, for a squash! Come on!
So, Campbell's is not doing us locals any favors. Robin Hood and his Merry Men (and women) lay awaiting the unsuspecting tourist, ready to fleece them of their gold and silver.
So I guess me and maid Marian will just stay in the cottage and rustle up some vittles here. If we do saddle up and venture out, it will be to the Little John's and Free-er Tuck's of the valley, like the Apple Cup, Marcela's, Local Myth Pizza, Las Brisas, in Chelan, or Troy's Pizza and the Northshore Cafe in Manson, where we can have a great meal, and keep our tunics on our backs and most of our jingle in our own pockets!
