Was in Fairhaven with a group doing a writing workshop and we all fell in love with it! The Inn was charming, the staff very friendly and the chocolate chip cookies a special treat! Everything we needed was looked after with a smile. Our room was very spacious and clean...the attention to detail in the decor make this a special place to be.
An fyi, you need to ask for a fridge if you want one in the room.
Would definitely stay here again.

Room tip: Overlooking the village square on one side which is very charming, the other side you are looking to the water. It was very quiet.

The FairHaven Village Inn is beautifully decorated. The place is so warm and inviting. We felt like we were pampering ourselves by staying there. When we arrived, Jeff at the front desk was so friendly. We enjoyed the cookies at 3pm, too. Our room was beautiful and spacious for three of us. The beds were comfortable.

Even though it was looking over rooftops, we enjoyed the sea view, the balcony & seagulls.
The location was perfect. It was easy walking to get to the fabulous boardwalk & downtown. The San Juan island whale watching cruise departure was close by but we chose to drive due to our elderly Mom.The boardwalk was amazing & we enjoyed the sunset very much.

It was an easy walk across the street to restaurants. We enjoyed Colophon & jalapeños. It was also walking distance to the quaint little town of FairHaven district. One day, there was a fun farmers market across the street.

Breakfast was ok. Waffles, cereal, breads fruit, boiled eggs. Has nice bakery with quiche nearly next door.

There was no pool but we didn’t miss it. There’s a lovely little patio with beautiful flowers and rocking chairs. We enjoyed looking out at the water, too.

22 spacious rooms are available in this quaint, well maintained and well run inn located in the heart of the historic Fairhaven neighborhood on the south side of Bellingham. Some of the rooms are on the harbor side and the other face toward the Village Green and surrounding variety of stores and eateries. We found the harbor side to be quieter and more peaceful looking out towards the water (except for the seagulls), but my daughter, who was 2 doors down, was awakened by the train whistles (ear plugs??) Our rooms had fireplaces which were a welcome addition on a cooler rainy day.
The Fairhaven Village Inn has lovely antiques and curios. Our granddaughter was amused by the old fashioned phone booth which she used to call our room and the old black dial phone that was in the library. There are old ship replicas on display and an ornate wooden bird cage in the lobby. Even the elevator has some interesting décor.
The large library adjacent to the lobby has beautiful wood features and furniture, a fireplace with nearby armchairs, books for both adults and children, puzzles, and games. There is coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and water available 24 hours. Fresh baked chocolate chip cookies were also offered in the afternoon.
Off street parking (some under cover) is available for guests.
There is a small breakfast room offering a continental breakfast beginning at 7am. The staff member there was very pleasant, but the breakfast was only average (good coffee though)....There is a creperie and a bakery just steps away though.
Surrounding the Fairhaven Village Inn are a wonderful variety of shops, restaurants, walking trails, dog parks, the nearby harbor, and the Amtrak Station is a few blocks away. If we were up this way more often, we would definitely want to return to this charming inn.

Room tip: Harbor side or village green side. Nice to have a fireplace.

Your review of the Inn and Harborside room is most welcomed, thank you. The Port of Bellingham has approved and is working toward implementing a railroad quiet zone in Fairhaven in 2019. This will mean that trains passing through Fairhaven will not have to blow their whistles at the crossings!

And now with the chill in the air, we find most will close up the doors to the balconies to enjoy the view of the Harbor, cozying up to the warmth and ambiance of the gas fireplaces either in their own room or enjoying the company of others in the library. More often than not with a warm tea or cup of cocoa as you mentioned. Also, thank you for your comments with regards to our continental breakfast. This Fall we are working on improving our offerings and appreciate your feedback.

Again, thank you. We look forward to your return visit!
