If you're looking for a budget hotel that truly delivers, the Coachman Inn is perfect for you. The Coachman staff is professional, helpful and welcoming. The included breakfast is perfectly serviceable, generous and the coffee is hot and fresh. The facility is an older one, and not luxurious. That's exactly the point. This older facility is fastidiously kept, and the value is excellent. If you walk in expecting luxury accommodations, you will be disappointed. The Coachman Inn is a value facility, and it meets that standard.

This hotel is perfect for travelers who are in Bellingham to explore this charming town, or on business on a budget. There's no elevator, so if you want greater convenience in lugging your own suitcase - because you will be - request a room on the first floor!

I heartily recommend The Coachman Inn because it is exactly what it promises to be. I have stayed here multiple times, and will return.

I stayed at the Coachman and booked on site during an emergency drive to British Columbia. I got there around ten pm and paid dearly for a room. I didn't expect much but it must be noted the beds were quite hard but the big problem with them is their sheets are very rough. Because of this I didn't get to sleep but a few hours of tossing and turning. The guy at the front desk was great and I will add a star for his presence but only stay here if it's a desperate last minute situation.

Room was dated, but clean and quiet. Microwaves are community so they are in the hall way. A friend stayed in another room and the furniture was destroyed, and the smoke detector was ripped from the ceiling. Staff was friendly and there are options for breakfast. Stayed 1 night awaiting early flight.

We stayed one night at the Coachman Inn and are so glad we found this gem. If you want a convenient, clean place to stay and don't care about extra frills, this is the place for you. I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice it was for the extra low price. You definitely get more than you pay for.

There is no elevator and it's an older property, but really that's the only thing I can think of that more expensive properties might have (and charge 2-3 times more).

Real coffee mugs in the room instead of plastic cups. The continental breakfast was more than adequate and just as good as ones we've had at more expensive hotels. The muffins were extra fresh and the hard boiled eggs were already peeled! Nice extra touch.

There are several restaurants nearby and easy access to/from the freeway.

Based upon the recommendation of a server at Skylark's Hidden Cafe on a previous trip this time we chose The Coachman. We have been delightfully pleased. This a family owned and operated hotel upholding the best traditions of service while charging very reasonable rates. The property is impeccably clean and comfortable as well as being quiet!
Every day there is a family member/owner at the front desk who, in addition to handling the phone, greeting and registering guests, attends to the breakfast service, cleaning the tables, keeping the coffee and foods filled, doing it all with a cheerful, helpful smile.
My wife is especially impressed with the continental breakfast; fitting the traditional range of offerings, they are all fresh and of high quality. We have both enjoyed them.
Comparing the Coachman with our previous "chain" hotels in Bellingham, this has been better at half the price!
We highly recommend The Coachman and would award an extra star i we could! You get more than you pay for; Great value!!

PS there are many options for eating within walking distance; we especially enjoyed On Rice Thai Cusine across the road (but that's another review!)

Room Tip: ask for what you need
