Excellent option for history buffs away on a couples trip and better value than we expected. Room was tastefully and simply decorated and felt both simple and luxurious. Parking particularly convenient at Brick House Tavern. Wonderful to stay in colonial area--felt like staying "in resort." Exceptionally friendly staff. Ask about the overall size of the room if that matters to you--we were comfy and cozy with our small TV, queen-size bed, and petite desk--and do not expect items like a mini-fridge, elevator access, or in-house ice automatically (ask first if you need these things). Tall people may wish to ask about shower height (ours was short in the back); if you need accessibility features, also call and ask questions about the rooms. Upon check-in, we realized associated amenities included a complimentary 2-hour bike ride and a few other small perks we wish we'd known about in advance. We were able to book via Hotels.com conveniently.

Room Tip: Ask about room configuration if you like certain furniture or space; consider requesting dormer wind...

This is an excellent choice while visiting Colonial Williamsburg. Your room is in a vintage building, right in the village, so if you need an air conditioned break or a quick nap, you can go back to your room without leaving the area.
There are numerous buildings used for Colonial Houses. We stayed at one on Francis St, where there were at least a dozen rooms. A parking lot was nearly adjacent to the building, so that made parking easier. You get a discount on admission tickets to CW events, which helps compensate for the price of the room.
The room itself was very simple, but pleasant. Clean. The bathroom was 1950's vintage and in need of updating, but it was clean and OK.
For breakfast, you can go to the Williamsburg Inn (very expensive) or leave the historic area and get food from a commercial establishment. All on foot, no need to drive if you don't mind a 15-min walk.
The merit of this room is its proximity to the Colonial Williamsburg. It is a great way to view the historic location.

Excellent place to stay, get time, and very educational. This is the best living museum there is in the US and it's great. I love the beautiful gardens throughout the grounds. The site interpreters were very knowledgable and open about being approached and asked questions.

We stay in a Colonial House every year when we visit Williamsburg. The rooms provide a warm, historic felling that is special to Colonial Williamsburg. They are not really more expensive than conventional rooms. What tends to get overlooked, is how good the food is at the four taverns in CW. The dinners are really excellent, and the service is as well.
