We spent a day at β€˜the Revolutionary City’ and really enjoyed it. My kids especially the 12 year old got bored pretty quick but I found the craftspeople, like the cobbler, the tinsmith and the brick maker very fascinating. My kids even loved visiting the foundry where he was making things out of melted metal and explaining how different metals melted at different temps. So cool!

There was an entertaining exhibition cannon fire at the armory that I recommend, but cover your ears!

Coolest part was the end of the day, they brought the drum and fife corps out in uniform to march and perform on the green. A very inspiring sound and lovely way to end the day, and then we went and had dinner in Williamsburg near the campus.

Afterwards we showed our teenagers the AMC series Turn and they were so excited to see all the places we’d visited there in the show.

Highly recommend this trip back in time and can’t wait to get back.

We come to the Historic area once a year and see new things each time. The bits and bridles tour was amazing, along with the opportunity to see the behind the scenes offices of where the colonial Christmas decorations are made. We always take a small flashlight to walk at night.

Went there on our honeymoon and keep on going back. It just gets better and better. Where else can you "live" history?

If you want a full visit of Colonial Williamsburg you should park at the Visitor Center and pay a ticket that will allow you to visit everything and use a free shuttle. If you prefer save money just park close the Merchant Square and walk... something will not be accessible without ticket, but you can still enjoy the english breeze. The Governor Palace is really nice but it's included just with the ticket.
