Owner description: Colonial Williamsburg is the only place that takes you back in time to the dawn of America. This isn't just a place where things once happened. They're happening, right now, here in the 18th century. We're the place where the idea of our country is being born; the place where the ideals we stand for as Americans are being defined. We are the 18th century "live," filled with the stories of the women, men, and children—free and enslaved—whose values and visions gave us a new world. Step back in time and meet the people who made America—sing with them, dance with them, eat with them, and have fun with them. For every person who wants to understand this country, this is your place.

Good for the whole family. A blast from the past. Really friendly characters. Lots of walking in pretty green spaces.

Always enjoy stopping in to Colonial Williamsburg. We often visit briefly and do a walking tour. On this trip, we did the Behind the Scenes Tour (about 2 hours long, sponsored by Colonial Williamsburg itself, does not also require general admission) with very knowledgeable hosts, particularly enjoying visits to the Silversmith and Capitol. Locations change with the tour. Overpriced a bit and short on information about program operations, but still quite enjoyable and a nice twist on the walking tour concept.

This is our third time to Colonial Williamsburg over a 20 yr period. I had heard that their numbers were significantly down and took this week in consideration as we toured with 2 teens. The museum was well done but we were unable to tour the courthouse or the Governors mansion. Previously we did see the courthouse and a case. Basically we went into many small stores and saw a few craftsmen talking about their craft. I felt that they need to take a look at either how Monticello or MtVernon do their businesses and how they have numerous talks going on that are included in the tour vs paying an extra $25 for each talk. Williamsburg is a fantastic location, however this time it felt like a sleepy little ghost town. Disappointed. One bright note. Head to the museum in the SW corner/ hospital location and go through it! This was new for us and well done.

My wife and I traveled there for the 4th of July fireworks. We had a good time touring the community even though it was way to hot and humid. Enjoyable day and the fireworks were extremely nice. We loved touring the Governors palace and gardens and hearing about pieces of history

We parked at the visitor centre and took the 15 minute walk to the settlement/ town . It was a particularly hot day so this walk was a little uncomfortable, but the town was really interesting, with people dressed in colonial costume and telling you all about how the town was developed.
We didn’t stay as long as we would have liked to because of the heat , but enjoyed what we did see of it .
