Great food, great service, lovely atmosphere! A short walk from the Chilton House. I would highly recommend.
In old restored railroad depot in small historic town. Good service. Good menu. Chef may have been from SC. Shrimp and Grits and She Crap Soup. Excellent goat cheese beet salad. Pitie brunch filet very tender. Fried oysters tender and juicy. Attentive service even when very busy. Good for large groups. Call for reservations. Large bar service. On street parking.
My wife, granddaughter and I had dinner at Claire’s tonight, Dec. 30,on the way back to Haymarket from Winchester. My wife and granddaughter each had a cup of the she crab soup and shared a 7 oz filet with mashed and vegetables. They declared it excellent. I had the stuffed flounder special and it was to die for. Not cheap, but well worth the tariff, and the service was impeccable.
We stopped here when family was in town visiting. We live in Culpeper and are pretty spoiled with the food choices, but decided to venture a bit further out. I haven't had much luck in Warrenton in the past, but this place was a very happy surprise. It's a lovely building, and the staff is prompt and pleasant. Everything was fresh, especially the fish, and made on site. My inlaws ordered crab cakes and were very pleased. They also had the oyster appetizer and loved it. The french fries were to die for! Will definitely be back next time we are in town.
